영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
The praise ad honor and glory be to our Heavenly Father who seeks worshipers who worship with spirit and truth.
오늘은 연중시기 아홉번째 주일입니다. 지난 주에 예수님께서 승천하시면서, 제자들에게 모든 민족으로 제자를 삼으라는 대위임령을 주셨는데, 이것은 온 민족에게로 가서, 하나님 나라가 시작되었다는 것을 선포하고, 사랑과 공의로 살아가며 제자를 삼는 것이라는 것을 알았습니다. 이번 주에는 하나님 나라의 원형에 대해 좀 더 이해해 보기 위하여, 태초에 하나님께서 창조하신 세상은 어떠했는지 한번 알아 보고 함께 은혜를 나누기를 원합니다.
Today is the ninth Sunday of Ordinary Time. Last week, we shared a message about ascending Jesus gave his disciples a great commission to make disciples of all nations, which is to proclaim that the kingdom of God has begun, with life of love and justice, to make disciples. This week, in order to understand more about the original form of the kingdom of God, we would like to take a look at what God created in the beginning.
- 오늘 본문 창세기 1장은 여러분들께서도 너무 잘 아시는 하나님의 창조 기사입니다. “태초에 하나님께서 천지를 창조하셨다”는 선포로부터 시작하는데, 이는 창세기 뿐 만 아니라 성경 전체를 여는 말씀이며 또 모든 성경의 기초가 되는데, 이 말씀은 하나님을 창조주로 선포하는 동시에, 창조된 세계를 섭리하시는 주권자이시며, 또한 심판자 (창2:17) 이심을 선포하는 말씀인 것 입니다.
- Today’s text Genesis 1 talks about a creation story. It begins with the proclamation, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” This is the word that opens the whole Bible as well as Genesis and is the foundation of all the story of the Bible. And this verse proclaims that He is not only the Creator, but also the Sovereign God of the Providential care and also the Ultimate judge (cf. Gen 2:17).
- 그리고, 6일 동안의 창조 과정을 살펴 보면, 하나님의 창조는 하나님께서 말씀하시매 그 말씀대로 되었으며, 그 것은 하나님께서 보시기에 좋은 상태라고 말하고 있는데, 이 말씀은 하나님께서 눈으로 보시기에 좋았음을 의미할 뿐 만 아니라, 또한 각 창조물에 대해 하나님께서 결정하신 모든 것들에 대한 존재론적 선함을 의미하는 말씀이며, 동시에 하나님의 창조 목적에 부합하여, 그 존재의 목적을 성취할 수 있는 존재임을 의미기도 합니다. 그래서 딤전 4:4 에서는, 모든 선의 근원되시는 하나님(눅 18:19)께서 지으신 모든 것이 선하다고 말씀하고 있는 것입니다.
- And, when you look at the process of creation for 6 days, God created all according to God’s word and then God saw it was good. This means not only that it was good in His eyes, but also that the ontological status was good so that they can fulfill the purpose of existence by God. That’s why1 Timothy 4:4 says that everything God who is the source of all all (Luke 18:19), made is good.
- 하나님께서 만드신 모든 창조물 중에서 특별히 인간은 하나님의 형상을 지닌 생령, 즉, Living soul 로 창조하셔서, 하나님의 대리자가 되어 하나님께서 만드신 땅을 정복하고, 바다의 물고기와 하늘의 새와 가축과 온 땅과 땅에 기는 모든 것을 다스리게 하셨습니다. 그런데 다스린다는 히브리어 “(רדה(radah, 라다))” 의 어원에 의하면, 여기서는, 자기를 위하여 권력을 사용하여 군림하는 것을 의미하기 보다, 각각의 창조물들을 향한 하나님의 창조의 뜻에 부합하도록, 도와 주는 것을 의미하는 것이 될 것입니다. 따라서, 이러한 개념을 인간에게 적용한다면, 다스리는 자 (혹은 섬기는 자)는 마땅히 각자가 지닌 하나님의 형상이 온전히 발현되도록 도와 주고 또 그 하나님의 형상이 각자의 삶에 온전히 실현되도록 도와주는 것을 의미하게 될 것 입니다. 특별히 우리에게 맡겨진 자녀에 대해서는 그 의미를 적용해 본다면, 각 자녀에게 주신 하나님의 형상을 발현토록 도와 주고 또 그 형상이 온전히 실현되도록 도와주는 것이 부모님께 맡겨진 사명이라고 이해할 수 있겠습니다.
- Among all the creations, especially human beings were created with God’s image, as the living soul, and as His representative, and were said to subdue the land and have dominion the fishes in the sea, birds in the sky, and all the livestock on the earth. According to its etymology of the Hebrew “רדה (radah) to govern)”, it does not mean to reign with power for oneself, but rather to help the creatures to fulfill God’s image in them. Therefore, when we apply this to the human beings, we have to serve each other until God’s image is fully manifested and fulfilled and consummated. And also regarding to the role of the parent toward children, this can mean that our parent has to help them to grow to the image of God and fulfill it through their lives.
- 마지막으로 묵상하고 싶은 것은 7일째 되는 날을 안식일 즉 Sabbath로 제정해 주신 의미 입니다. 여기서 하나님의 창조 사역에 있어서는 7일째 되는 날이지만, 6일째에 창조된 인간은, 그가 창조된 후 첫날이 바로 안식일로 시작된다고 볼 수 있는데, 이것은 매우 의미가 있습니다. 즉, 인간이 일도 시작하기 전에 먼저 안식일을 가졌다는 것은 앞으로 살아갈 6일 동안의 힘을 먼저 하나님께 얻고서, 일하러 간다는 의미로 생각해 볼 수 있겠습니다. 즉 먼저 노동하고 그 피로를 회복하는 개념으로 안식일을 제정해 주신 것이 아니라, 반대로 일을 시작하기 전에 감당할 능력과 은혜를 먼저 공급받고, 그 은혜와 힘으로 일을 시작하도록 하셨다는 것을 알 수 있습니다. 그렇습니다. 지난 시간에도 살펴 보았듯이, 하나님의 임재, 하나님의 축복하심이 우리의 능력이 되도록 우리는 지음 받았습니다. 이렇게 하나님의 은혜와 감당할 능력을 먼저 받고 나서 하는 6일간의 사역 (일)은 더 이상 힘든 노동이 되지 않을 것 입니다. 왜냐하면, 먼저 감당할 은혜와 능력을 받고 일하기 때문에 그것은 오히려 감사가 될 것입니다. 따라서, 일한 결과물의 십일조를 드린다는 것은 곧 하나님께서 공급해 주신 다른 모든 여건들, 즉 해와 비와 영양분 등등 에 대한 감사의 표현일 뿐 만 아니라, 우리에게 그 일을 감당할 능력과 은혜를 주셨다는 당연한 감사의 표현임을 알 수 있습니다.
- Lastly, we would like to meditate on the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the seventh day of God’s creation. To the human beings who were created on the sixth day, the Sabbath was the first day. In this perspective, it is very meaningful to the human beings, in other words, human beings had the Sabbath first before they start to work in order to receive the grace and the power from God for the six days of work. So, we can see that God did not institute the Sabbath as a concept of working first then restoring fatigue, rather, before we start to work, God wanted to give us Sabbath first to gain strength and power to work in grace and joy, as we have seen already that God’s presence is our strength for the ministry. So this 6-days of ministry (work) after receiving God’s grace will not be a hard work anymore. It would be rather grateful because we work with the grace and power to handle them already. Therefore, giving tithes from our work is not only an expression of appreciation for all other conditions that God has provided, namely sun, rain, nutrients, etc., but also to express our natural gratitude for giving us the power and grace to handle the work.
이러한 창조의 은혜의 원리가, 이미 우리들의 삶에 전제되어 있고, 또한 그 은혜가 적용되고 있음을 깨닫고, 또 그렇게 하나님의 창조의 원형을 회복해 주신 은혜와 복을 누리며 살아가는 우리 모든 어린이들이 되기를 소망할 때에, 동일한 은혜가 온 교회와 가정에 함께 하시기를 기도합니다.
Therefore, I pray that based on this principle of creation, all our children may enjoy the grace and the blessings of God, since we as born-again Christians were living the restored image of God already and also the same grace will be with all the churches and families.

Q1: My friends! I wonder if you want to take enough rest to have full power before you start a hard work or you want to take a rest after working hard first? 여러분! 힘든 일을 시작할 때, 충분히 쉬고 힘을 얻어서 시작하는 것이 좋을까요? 아니면 일단 일부터 하고 쉬는 것이 좋겠어요?
(이 질문을 통해서, 우리 아이들이 안식일은 은혜와 능력으로 충전받고 새로운 한주간을 시작하도록 하나님께서 제정해 주신 복된 날임을 깨닫게 되기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
(With this question, I hope that our children will realize that the Sabbath is a blessed day that God has ordained to begin a new week, filled with grace and power. As they express various thoughts, opinions, and feelings, you may enjoy the conversation with your children through an active listening and empathy.)
Q2: We all are born in the image of God. In your thought, what is your strength? What kinds of talents do you have? From whom do you think you receive those talents? Do you know that God made you in the womb of your mom wonderfully and even fearfully? If God is now with you, what do you think/expect God speak to you? 우리는 모두 하나님의 형상을 가지고 태어났습니다. 여러분들 생각에 여러분이 잘 할 수 있는 것이 무엇이 있나요? 그리고 그 달란트는 누가 주셨을까요? 하나님께서 여러분들의 엄마의 모태에서 여러분들을 창조하실 때 참으로 신기하고 놀랍게 창조하셨다는 것을 아시나요? 만약 하나님께서 지금 여러분들과 함께 있으시다면 하나님께서 여러분들에게 어떤 말씀을 해 주실까요?
(이 질문을 통해서, 우리들 모두는 하나님의 형상으로 신묘막측하게 창조되었으며, 많은 좋은 달란트들을 우리에게 주셨다는 것을 알기를 원합니다. 그리고 그렇게 하나님께서 주신 하나님의 형상을 자기 자신에게서도 혹은 친구들에게서도 발견하고 살아가는 아이들이 되기를 소망합니다. 특히 크리스천인 우리는 또한 하나님의 거듭나게 하시는 은혜를 입었기에 더더욱 하나님의 형상이 모든 아이들에게서 밝히 보여지고 또 그렇게 하나님의 형상을 입은 아이들로 살아갈 수 있기를 소망합니다. 다양한 경험들과 생각들을 이야기할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 그렇게 생각하게 된 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들의 이야기에 대하여 적극적인 경청과 공감의 대화의 시간이 될 수 있기를 소망합니다. 혹 성장의 한 과정으로서, 혹은 처해진 환경으로 인하여, 자기 자신에 대해 부정적인 자아상을 가지고 있는 아이들이 있을 수도 있습니다. 마음이 아프지만 있는 그대로의 모습을 인정하고 그 모습마저도 끌어 안아 주십시오. 그렇게 자기의 있는 그대로의 모습을 받아 들여주고, 비록 그런 상황 속에서도 하나님께서 함께 하신다는 것을 스스로 느낄 수 있도록 도와주면, 우리 아이들 속에 내주하시는 성령님께서 그 모든 과정을 견뎌낼 힘도, 또 긍정적인 자아상을 회복할 은혜도 주실 줄 믿습니다. 혹 이런 부분에 있어, 신앙 상담이 필요하시면 언제든 연락주시면 감사하겠습니다.)
(Through this question, I hope that our children know that we are created in God’s image in a mysterious way and many good talents were given to us and also we may find God’s image in ourselves and even in our friends. Especially we as Christians, who were regenerated already, can clearly see the image of God in all children and and also we can witness that our children live in that image. I hope that this will be a time of active listening and empathy for your children’s stories. Empathizing with them, please ask why they think so sometimes. But, because of the environment, there may be children who have negative self-images about themselves. It hurts, but please try to acknowledge the way it is and embrace it, and accept it as it is. I believe that if you help your children to feel that God is with them even in such a situation, the Holy Spirit, who dwells in our children, will give them the strength to go through the process of healing and the grace to restore a positive self-image.)
Q3: If yo have a friend who does not know the image of God in him, how can you s Jesus says to you to make disciples, I wonder if you remind a friend whom you want to share the gospel to make His disciple? If yes, would you share how you will approach and share the gospel to make His disciple? 혹 여러분의 친구들 중에 하나님께서 주신 하나님의 형상을 깨달아 알지 못하고 있는 친구들이 있다면 어떻게 도와줄 수 있을까요?
(이 질문을 통해서, 우리 아이들에게 실제 삶에서 혹은 학교 생활에서 어떻게 친구들을 도와 줄 수 있을지 생각도 해 보고 고민도 해보는 시간이 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 다양한 생각들을 이야기할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 그렇게 생각한 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들의 이야기에 대하여 적극적인 경청과 공감의 대화의 시간이 될 수 있기를 소망합니다.)

하나님께서 창조해 주신 그 원형! 그 실락원을 회복하여 사는 삶! 그 하나님 나라의 삶을 지금 여기서 사는 우리 모든 복된 어린이들과 가정과 교회가 되기를 기도합니다.

The archetype of God’s creation, the life in the paradise which was lost, but, will be recovered! I pray that all our children may live in it already here and now as the life of the kingdom of God. Also I pray that all the family and the church are blessed too.
