영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 2월 17일 Ash Wednesday (재의 수요일) 를 시작으로 Lent (사순절) 기간이 시작되었는데, 오늘은 그 첫번째 주일입니다. 지난 주에는, 요나서 4장 말씀을 통해서, 하나님은 믿는 자 뿐 만 아니라, 믿지 않는 자를 포함한 만유의 주가 되시는 분이시며, 모든 사람이 구원에 이르기를 원하시는 바, 은혜로 구원받은 우리가 하나님의 구원을 전하는 것이 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 것임을 배웠습니다. 이번 주에는 고전 1:18-31 을 통해서, 십자가의 도, 즉 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 얻는 구원이 하나님의 지혜요 능력임을 배워보는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.
Today is the first week of the Lent in 2021, which started from last Ash Wednesday, Feb 17. Last week, through Jonah 4, we learned that we, as His saved people, could please God by proclaiming His grace to the world, since God is God of all the universe including all human beings and also desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth. This week, through 1 Cor 1:18-31, we would like to learn that the message of the cross, the salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, is the power and wisdom of God.
- 헬라 철학으로 유명한 아테네에서 약 85km (약 1시간) 떨어진 고린도는 견유 철학자인 디오게네스의 도시였으며, 고린도 수사학교는 명성이 있었습니다. 그런 고린도에 위치한 고린도 교회의 성도들은 기본적으로 헬라 철학의 영향에서 자유로울 수가 없었고, 그들의 생각 저변에는 이성을 통하여 지혜를 얻으면 구원을 얻는다, 이데아의 세계로 들어갈 수 있다는 헬라 철학이 깔려 있어, 지혜나 지식의 은사를 중시하여 다른 은사를 가진 성도들을 낮추어 보거나 하나님의 은혜로 말미암는 전인적 구원에 대한 이해가 없이 구원이후의 삶에 대한 금욕주의로 흐르거나 혹은 방종으로 흐르는 등 균형잡힌 세계관을 가지지 못하여 교회내에서 여러 문제를 일으켰습니다.
- Corinth, about 85 km (about 1 hour) from Athens, famous for its Greek philosophy, was the city of Diogenes, a cynical philosopher, where the Corinthian Rhetoric School had a reputation. The members of the Corinthian church located in Corinth were fundamentally influenced by the Greek philosophy that they could be saved by gaining wisdom for the IDEA through the reason (nous), so that they ranked the gifts of wisdom or knowledge over other gifts or slipped away to the asceticism or indulgence without understanding of holistic gospel and resulted in several kinds of problem in church.
- 따라서, 바울은 오늘 본문을 통해서,세상의 지혜로는 하나님을 알 수 없는 바, 십자가의 도, 즉 그리스도의 십자가 죽음과 부활을 믿음으로 말미암아 은혜로 얻는 구원이 하나님의 능력이요 지혜임을 분명히 가르쳐 주고 있습니다. 비록 이 복음이 다윗 왕국의 영광을 회복해 줄 메시야를 기다렸던 유대인들에게는 꺼리는 것이요, 지혜를 추구했던 헬라인들에게는 참으로 미련하게 보일 수 있지만, 이 복음이야 말로, 죄와 허물로 죽어 있는 인간들을 살릴 수 있는 하나님의 능력이며, 하나님께 이를 수 있는 지혜인데, 그 하나님의 지혜가 바로 예수 그리스도이시며, 그 안에 칭의와 성화와 구속의 은혜가 있음을 말하고 있는 것입니다.따라서, 우리가 믿음으로 성령을 통하여 예수님과 연합하면, 이 모든 은혜가 값없이 우리에게 전가된다고 말씀하고 있습니다.
- Therefore, Paul made it clear through today’s text and taught them that God cannot be known by the wisdom of the world, so that the message of the cross, that is, the salvation by grace through faith in the death and resurrection of Christ, is the power and wisdom of God. Although this Gospel is reluctant to the Jews who had been waiting for the Messiah to restore the glory of the kingdom of David, and may seem truly foolish to the Greeks who sought wisdom, this Gospel is the power of God through which people who are dead in sin and transgression can be raised and the wisdom to reach God, i.e., Jesus Christ, who is the justification, sanctification, and redemption to us. Therefore, it is said that when we were united with Jesus through the Holy Spirit by faith in Jesus, all these grace will be imputed on to us freely.
- 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서, 몇가지 은혜 나누기를 원하는데, 첫째로는 이 하나님의 지혜는 세상의 지혜있는 자, 선비인 자, 그리고 세대의 변론가에게는 그저 미련하게 보인다는 사실입니다. 자기 이성을 통하여 하나님의 지혜를 깨닫고 자력 구원을 이루려고 하는 이들에게는 이 하나님의 지혜가 감추어져 있는데, 오히려 이 하나님의 지혜는 하나님 앞에서 자기 스스로 미련하게 여기는 자, 자기의 약함을 고백하는 자, 그래서 세상 지식으로 보면 천해 보기고 멸시 받지만, 결국 자기 안에는 구원이 없는 것을 아는 자에게만 열려 있으며, 하나님께 지혜를 구하는 겸손한 이들에게만 계시된다는 것을 말씀하고 있습니다.따라서, 우리는 늘 겸손하게 하나님 앞에 서야 하며, 지혜가 부족할 때 하나님께 구해야 하는 것입니다. 두번째는 그런데 이러한 하나님의 자기 계시, 구원에 대한 계시는 미련하게 보이는 전도를 통해서 이루어진다고 말하고 있습니다. 중생으로부터 구원의 완성인 부활에 이르기까지 전 구원의 과정은 전적인 하나님의 사역임에도 불구하고 인간을 전도자로 쓰신다는 사실은 참으로 놀라운 은혜로, 우리로 하여금 하나님의 구원 사역에 초대해 주신 은혜를 감사하게 할 뿐 만 아니라, 동시에 이것은 하나님께 이르는 지혜는 인간 내부에서 지성을 통한 지혜의 깨달음으로부터 나오는 것이 아니라 하나님께서 보내신 전도를 통하여 우리에게 전달되었다는 사실을 분명히 깨닫게 해 주는 바, 늘 하나님 앞에 겸손해야 될 줄로 믿습니다. 그리고 마지막으로 하나님의 지혜는 바로 예수 그리스도, 즉, 예수 그리스도가 우리의 칭의요 성화요 또한 구속이 되신다는 사실입니다. 따라서, 구원은 우리가 믿음으로 성령님께서 우리를 예수 그리스도께 연합시켜 주실 때에 우리에게 전가된다는 사실을 알아야 하며 그것을 아는 우리는 매일 매순간 우리 생명의 근원되시는 예수께 나아와 그의 의를 덧입어야 하는 것입니다. 그래서 칼빈은 다름과 같이 말했던 것입니다.
“구원의 총체가 그리고 그 각 부분이 그리스도 안에 있다는 사실을 안다면(행 4:12), 아무리 작은 부분이라도 그것을 그 이외의 다른 곳에서 이끌어오는 일이 없도록 경계를 다해야 할 것이다. 우리가 구원을 찾는다면, 바로 예수라는 이름부터가 그 구원이 그에게 속해 있다는 것을 가르쳐주는 것이다 (고전 1 :30). 만일 우리가 성령의 다른 은사들을 구한다면, 그리스도의 기름 부으심에서 그것들을 찾게 될 것이다. 힘을 구한다면, 그것은 그리스도의 다스림에 있다. 순결을 구한다면, 그의 잉태되심에서 찾으며, 온유함을 구한다면, 바로 그의 탄생에서 나타날 것이다. 그의 탄생하심을 통해서 그는 모든 점에서 우리와 같이 되셔서 (히 2:17) 우리의 고통을 직접 느끼기를 배우게 되셨기 때문이다(참조. 히 5:2). 만일 우리가 구속을 구한다면, 그것은 그의 고난에 있다. 죄 사함을 구한다면, 그의 정죄 받으심에서 찾을 수 있으며, 저주를 면한 것을 구한다면 그의 십자가에서 찾을 수 있다(갈 3:13). 그리고 죄에 대한 보상을 찾는다면, 그것은 그의 희생에서 드러나며, 정결케 되는 것을 구한다면, 그것은 그의 피에서 찾을 수 있다. 화목을 구한다면, 그가 지옥에 내려가신 일에서 찾을 수 있고, 육체를 죽이는 것을 구한다면, 그의 무덤에서 찾으며, 새로운 생명을 구한다면, 그의 부활하심에서 찾을 수 있고, 영원한 생명을 구한다면, 똑같이 부활에서 찾을 수 있다. 천국의 기업을 구한다면, 그가 하늘에 올라 가신 일에서 찾을 수 있고, 보호하심과 안전과 충만한 축복을 구한다면, 그의 나라에서 찾을 수 있고, 안심하고 심판을 기대하기를 구한다면, 그가 심판주로서 지니신 권능에서 찾을 수가 있다. 요컨대, 모든 종류의 선이 그에게 풍성하게 구비되어 있으므로, 다른 샘을 구하지 말고 바로 이 샘에서 마음껏 마시자는 것이다.”
Through today’s Bible verses, we would like to learn few things; First, it is said that the wisdom of God is hidden from those who try to reach it by themselves and by their own reason, the wise, scholars, and advocates of the generation, to accomplish their own salvation, rather, this wisdom of God is opened to those who regard themselves as foolish before God, confess their weaknesses and who know that there is no salvation in them so that this wisdom will be revealed to only the humble who seek wisdom from God. Therefore, we should always be humble before God and ask God who gives it when we ask. Second, the Bible says that the revelation of this wisdom, i.e., the revelation of salvation, comes through the evangelism, which the world thinks foolish, Even though the whole process of the salvation, from regeneration to the resurrection, is God’s work, but the fact that humans are invited to His glorious work as evangelists is a truly amazing grace, which makes us not only thank God for His grace to invite us to His mission, but also recognize that the wisdom does not come from our reason, rather it was delivered to us through the evangelist sent by God, so that we always have to be humble before God. And finally, we have to know that the wisdom of God is Jesus Christ, who is our justification, sanctification and redemption, i.e., when the Holy Spirit unites us into Jesus through faith, all those merits will be imputed to us. so that we have to come to Jesus, the source of our life, every day, and put on his righteousness. Therefore Calvin says that;
“We see that our whole salvation and all its parts are comprehended in Christ [Acts 4:12]. We should therefore take care not to derive the least portion of it from anywhere else. If we seek salvation, we are taught by the very name of Jesus that it is “of him” [1 Cor. 1:30]. If we seek any other gifts of the Spirit, they will be found in his anointing. If we seek strength, it lies in his dominion; if purity, in his conception; if gentleness, it appears in his birth. For by his birth he was made like us in all respects [Heb. 2:17] that he might learn to feel our pain [cf. Heb. 5:2]. If we seek redemption, it lies in his passion; if acquittal, in his condemnation; if remission of the curse, in his cross [Gal. 3:13]; if satisfaction, in his sacrifice; if purification, in his blood; if reconciliation, in his descent into hell; if mortification of the flesh, in his tomb; if newness of life, in his resurrection; if immortality, in the same; if inheritance of the Heavenly Kingdom, in his entrance into heaven; if protection, if security, if abundant supply of all blessings, in his Kingdom; if untroubled expectation of judgment, in the power given to him to judge. In short, since rich store of every kind of good abounds in him, let us drink our fill from this fountain, and from no other.”
- 기도하옵기는, 이번 한 주 동안, 하나님의 능력이요 지혜가 되신 우리 주님 예수님을 묵상하며, 주님 앞에 나와 주님의 칭의와 성화 그리고 구속의 은혜를 깊이 누림으로 하나님의 사랑과 은혜를 온 맘 가득채우는 복된 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회가 되기를 기도합니다.
- I pray that His beloved our KPCM children, families and church may be filled with His love and grace, by enjoying His justification, sanctification and redemption, which is Jesus’ who is the wisdom and power of God.
Activity questions and thought behind
Q1 It is said that we human beings can die, if we do not drink water. I wonder how long we can be survived without drinking water? It depends, but typically it is said two weeks. I wonder if you had those experience not to drink few hours to feel thirsty? Would you share how you felt and what you did? 인간은 물을 마시지 않으면 죽는다고 합니다. 여러분 몇일 정도 물도 음식도 먹지 않고 버틸 수 있을까요? 예. 사람마다 다른데 약 2주 정도라고 합니다. 여러분, 여러분들은 몇시간 정도 물을 먹지 않고 버텨 보았나요? 그때 목도 마르고 너무 힘들지 않던가요? 그럴 때 어떻게 하셨는지 친구들과 생각을 나누어 주면 좋겠어요.
(이 질문을 통하여, 약 70% 정도 우리의 몸을 차지하는 물도, 우리가 공급해 주지 않으면, 우리 몸도 위험한 생태에 처해지며, 특히 타는 목마름으로 괴로움을 느낄 수 있다는 사실을 알려주고 시시로 필요한 물을 마셔야 한다는 것을 인지하게 하기를 원합니다. (이 질문은 다음 질문을 위한 사전 작업입니다) 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
(Through this question, I hope our children can know that we human beings can be fallen down to very dangerous situation and feel burning thirsty, when we do not drink so that we need to drink frequently. This question helps our children to proceed to the next question. Q2 Then how about our soul? According to Today’s Bible verses and sermon, it is said that Jesus is our justification, sanctification and redemption. Then I wonder what will happen if we do not drink from Him? I wonder what the living bread which Jesus gives us is? I wonder how we can enjoy it fully? Would you share your thoughts with your friends? 그러면 여러분, 우리의 영혼은 어떨까요? 오늘 성경 말씀과 설교 말씀을 보니까, 예수님께서는 우리의 의로움, 거룩함, 그리고 구원이 되신다고 하십니다. 그러면 여러분, 우리가 매순간 예수님께 와서 예수님께서 주시는 생명수를 먹지 않으면 어떻게 될까요? 예수님께서 주시는 생명의 양식이 무엇일까요? 또 어떻게 하면 그 생명을 우리가 누릴 수 있을까요? 여러분들의 생각을 친구들과 나누어 주셨으면 좋겠어요.
