영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는, 지난 주에는 시편 2편을 통하여, 우리 크리스천들은 주님의 자녀들일 뿐 만 아니라, 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우주 만물을 다스리시는 하나님의 통치 안에서 또한 왕으로 세우심을 입은 자로 예수 그리스도께 복종함으로 하나님의 질서를 세워가야 함을 배웠습니다. 이번 주에는 빌 2:1-11절 말씀을 통하여, 모든 것을 비우시고 겸손의 왕으로 오신 주님을 생각하는 한주간 가운데 주님께서 주시는 평강으로 넘치는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Psalm 2, we learned that we, Christians, are not only became His children, but also have been made as His kings to recover His order in His kingdom where Jesus reigns all the universe in His justice and love. This week, through Php 2:1-11, we would like to live in His peace by meditating on the king of humility, emptying himself.
- 오늘 읽은 빌립보서는 AD 60-63 바울이 로마에서 가이사 앞에서의 재판을 앞두고 가택 연금 상태에 있을 때 빌립보 교회 (바울의 2차 전도 여행중, 자주 장사 루디아를 만나 전도한 것을 시작으로 로마법에 의한 정치적 오해 등으로 감옥에 갇혔을 때, 하나님께서 기적적으로 그를 구출해 주셨는데, 이로 인하여 곤경에 빠진 간수가 회심하는 등 복음의 역사에 의해 세워진 교회)에 보낸 서신으로, 자신을 걱정하는 빌립보 교인들에게 자신의 상황과 복음의 진보를 알리고 빌립보인들이 보낸 헌금에 감사의 표시를 하면서, 한편으로는 빌립보 교회 내에 있는 내분을 해결하고 유대인들의 악한 선전에 대응하기 위하여 이 편지를 써 보냈습니다.
- Today’s Bible book, the Epistle to the Philippians was written around AD 60-63 when Paul was imprisoned in the house to wait the trial by Caesar in Rome to the Philippian church which was founded when Paul shared the Gospel to Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth (Acts 16:14), and converted the jail guard who was in trouble when he was imprisoned due to the political misunderstanding, etc., to report how the Gospel was advanced and inform his status in Rome to the Philippians who took care of him, to express his gratitude to their contribution, to resolve the infighting within Philippian church and to deal with the evil propaganda of Judaism.
- 빌립보서에는 “기쁨”이란 단어가 16번 나옵니다. 그런데 그리스도란 말은 무려 37번이나 나옵니다. 핍박과 가난과 내분에 시달리는 빌립보 교회에 삶과 죽음, 즉 무죄 석방이냐 사형 선고냐의 갈림길에 서 있던, 바울이 그들에게 “기뻐하라”고 권면할 수 있었던 것은 바로 그리스도의 넘치는 은혜, 즉 2:6-11 에 나타난 그리스도의 낮아지심과 높아지심의 사역이 그 근간을 이루고 있었기 때문이었습니다. 고통스런 핍박을 기쁨으로 견디어 낼 수 있는 힘도 극심한 가난 중에도 오히려 감사함으로 연보를 할 수 있는 마음도, 또한 내분을 이겨낼 수 비결도 모두 그리스도에게 있기 때문입니다.
- In this letter, we can find the word “joy” 16 times, while the “Christ” 37 times. The reason how Paul who himself was facing the life of acquit or death sentence in the Roman court could exhort the Philippians to rejoice even though they had been suffering three problems; persecution, severe poverty and infighting was the sufficient grace of Christ, i.e., the humiliation and the exaltation of Christ in vv. 2:6-11, since Christ can give the strength to endure the persecution with joy, the merciful heart to send contributions even in the midst of extreme poverty with gratitude, and the secret to overcome infighting.
- 오늘 본문 2:1-11 의 중심 주제는, 빌립보 교인들이 예수 그리스도의 권면과 사랑의 위로와 성령의 교제와 하나님의 자비나 긍휼을 이미 경험하였으므로, 성육신과 고난 그리고 십자가의 죽으심에서 나타난 예수 그리스도의 순종과 겸손한 마음을 품고, 한마음으로 일치 단결하여 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 겸손과 자기 희생적 사랑으로 하나되는 공동체를 이루어 교회를 핍박하는 대적들을 대항하라고 권면하고 있습니다.
- The theme of today’s Bible verses of 2:1-11 is that since the Philippian church had experienced already the encouragement of Christ and the consolidation of love in Christ, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit and the mercy and sympathy of God, Paul exhorts that they might resist the enemies who persecuted them after forming the community of unity of the same mind and having the heart of Christ of sacrificial love and humility.
- 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는 데, 첫번째로는 빌립보 교회가 싸워야 할 적은 내부에 있는 것이 아니라, 외부에 있는 바, 내적으로 서로 사랑과 겸손으로 하나되는 공동체가 되어야 함을 상기 시켜 주었듯이, 우리들도 우리의 싸음은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요 통치자와 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들을 상대함이라는 엡6:12 말씀처럼, 누구와 영적 전쟁을 하고 있는 것인지 바로 보고 바로 깨달아야 할 것입니다. 그렇게 우리가 사랑과 겸손으로 하나되는 공동체를 이루어 영적 전쟁과 외적 핍박을 이겨 내기 위해서는 둘째로 우리가 예수님의 마음, 즉 겸손과 희생적 사랑의 마음을 품어야 하는데, 그 마음은 이기적 야망과 헛된 영광을 구하지 않으며, 나보다 남을 더 낫게 여기며 남의 유익을 함께 구하는 헌신적인 사랑과 겸손의 마음을 품어야 한다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 그리고 마지막으로 그렇게 예수 그리스도의 마음을 품을 수 있는 것은 그들이 이미 그리스도의 격려와 사랑의 위로, 그리고 성령안에서의 교제와 하나님의 긍휼과 자비를 경험했기 때문이라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 즉 빌립보 교회에 그런 은혜가 먼저 부어졌기에 주님의 사랑과 겸손으로 주안에서 하나된 공동체가 되어 외적 핍박을 이길 수 있다고 말씀하고 있는 것입니다.
- Through today’s Bible verses, we would like to learn few things. Firstly, we have to remember that as Paul reminded them that the enemy against whom they had to fight was those outside, not inside so that they have to be united in the community of the same mind in the love and humility of Christ, we also remember that our enemy is not brothers and sisters inside, rather those outside, as Eph 6:12 says that “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” And in order to overcome the persecution and win the spiritual warfare after being united in love and humility, secondly, it is said that we have to have the mind of Christ, i.e., the mind of humility and sacrificial love which is the mind not pursuing self-ambition and vain-glory, counting others more significant and looking to the interests of others. And the reason why they can have the mind of humility and love is that they already experienced the encouragement of Christ, the consolidation of love in Christ, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and the mercy and sympathy of God.
- 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회도, 예수님의 격려와 사랑의 위로, 성령님의 교제 그리고 하나님의 긍휼과 자비를 경험하고, 주님의 사랑과 겸손으로 하나되어 우리에게 주어진 당면 과제를 감당할 수 있기를 소망합니다.
- I pray that His beloved KPCM children, families and church may experience the encouragement of Christ, the consolidation of love in Christ, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and the mercy and sympathy of God so that we can overcome the challenges which we are faced up with, by being united in His love and humility.

Q1 It is said in vv. 2:6-8 that Jesus who was in the form of God did not count equlity with God, emptied himself by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men and humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. I wonder how Jesus felt? Would you share your thoughts or idea with your friends? 예수님께서는 하나님이셨는데 하늘 보좌를 버리시고 우리들과 같은 인간이 되셨고 또 모든 고난을 겪으시고 십자가에 죽기까지 하나님 아버지께 복종하셨다고 하셨는데 (vv 2:6-8) 예수님은 어떤 마음이셨을까요? 여러분들의 마음과 생각을 친구들에게 나누어 주시면 좋겠어요.
(이 질문을 통하여, 우리 아이들이 예수님의 마음, 하늘의 영광과 보좌를 버리시고 자기를 비어 인간의 몸을 입으셨을 뿐 아니라, 이 땅에서 모든 고난도 받으시고 또 십자가에 돌아가시기 까지 하나님 아버지께 복종하셨던 그 마음을 생각해 보고 조금이라도 이해해 보는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
(Through this question, I hope our children may think and understand how Jesus felt when He left the glory and throne of the heaven, emptied himself and took the likeness of human being and suffered and died in the cross. When your children express diverse thoughts, opinions, emotions, or experiences, I hope you may empathize with them to enjoy the conversation of empathy through active listening, sometimes asking their thoughts behind.)
Q2 As Jesus emptied himself, we would like to live life that we may count others more significant and look to the interest of others. I wonder how we can live that life in our school, family or church? Could you share your thoughts with your friends? 여러분 예수님께서 자기를 비우셨던 것처럼, 우리도 예수님을 쫓아 남을 나보다 낫게 여기고 다른 사람들을 돌보는 삶을 살 수 있기를 원합니다, 구체적으로 가정에서 학교에서 또 교회에서 어떻게 그렇게 살 수 있을까요? 여러분들이 가진 생각을 친구들에게 나누어 주셨으면 좋겠어요.

Q3 While we are going through the fourth week of the Lent season, 2021, I hope that while meditating on the humility and sacrificial love of Jesus, we may overcome our challenges after being united in the same mind to build the community of His body during this week. 오늘은 2021년 사순절 네번째 주일인데, 한 주간 동안 예수님의 희생적 사랑과 겸손을 묵상하며, 서로 한마음을 품고 주님의 몸된 공동체를 이루어 우리의 당면 과제를 극복하는 이기는 복된 한 주간 되시기를 소망합니다.
