영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는, 에베소서 2:11-22 절 말씀을 통해서, 그리스도 안에서 성취된 우주적 화해가 서로 관계가 단절된 인간들을, 예수 그리스도 안에 지어진 새사람을 통해서 하나가 되게 해 주는 바, 우리 교회는 그러한 평화를 경험하고 누리는 자로서 세상에서 평화의 사도로 부르심을 받았음을 알아보았습니다. 이번 주에는 계 21:1-8 말씀을 통하여 새 하늘 새 땅에 대해서 알아보고 같이 은혜 나눌 수 있기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Eph 2:11-22, we recognized our calling to proclaim His peace to the world as His agent of peace, who experienced the reconciliation with God and peace with His people since Jesus achieved universal peace and created one new humanity in Him. This week, through Rev. 21:1-8, we would like to learn how New heaven and new earth looks like and how we have to live in the hope of it.
- 지난번에 말씀드린데로, 요한 계시록은 1세기 로마로부터 박해를 받았던 크리스천들에게 그리스도인들이 비록 현세에 환난과 고난을 받지만, 이것은 예수 그리스도 안에서 이미 승리가 보장된 싸움이며, 또한, 그리스도의 통치 아래에 있는 교회는 반드시 이기도록 도와주신다는 사실을 기억하고, 끝까지 견디어 승리의 면류관을 받으라는 격려와 위로의 메시지이자, 또한 말세를 사는 우리들에게도 큰 힘이 되는 말씀 입니다.
- As we learned last time, the Book of Revelation is the exhortation of Apostle John to His saints in the first century who had been persecuted by Roman Emperor, by letting them know Jesus Christ had won already and ultimate victory was already guaranteed so that He would help His church to overcome their challenges and also we who live in this end era with severe challenges and sufferings may have same comfort and encouragement from our Lord.
- 요한 계시록은 7개의 단원, 즉 1~3장 일곱촛대 즉 그의 교회 가운데 거하시는 예수 그리스도, 4-7장 일곱인으로 봉한 책을 여시는 어린 양, 8-11장 일곱 나팔 심판과 144000 인치심을 받은 자, 12-14장 여인과 아이 (남아)가 용과 그 추종자들 (짐승과 음녀)로 부터 핍박을 받음, 15-16장 일곱 대접의 심판, 17-19장 큰 음녀와 짐승들의 멸망, 20-22장 용(사단)에 대한 심판과 새 하늘 새 땅, 새 예루살렘의 출현으로 나눌 수 있으며, 특히 일곱 단원은 예수님의 초림부터 재림까지를 서로 다른 주제를 가지고 병행하여 설명하고 있는데, 많은 주석학자들에 따르면, 일곱단원은 크게 두개로 대별되는데, 1-3 단원 (1-11장) 즉 제1부에서는 인간들 즉 신자와 불신자 사이의 전쟁에 대하여 언급하고 있는데, 세상은 교회를 공격하지만, 교회는 이들로부터 보호되고 마침내 승리하게 될 것이라고 하며, 제1부 (4-7단원, 12-22장) 에서는 이 땅위의 전쟁은 영적 전쟁이 그 바탕에 깔려 있는데, 사단이 그리스도를 공격하였지만 패하여 하늘에서 쫓겨나 무저갱에 갖히자 (예수님의 승천과 보좌에 앉으실 때), 두 짐승과 큰 음녀를 통하여 교회를 핍박하지만, 결국 마지막 날에 예수님께서 재림하여서 이들은 패배 시키시고, 새 하늘과 새 땅을 창조하셔서 영원히 그의 백성들과 함께 사신다는 내용입니다.[1]
- The book of Revelation can be divided into seven sections; The first is chapter 1-3 regarding Jesus Christ who walks in the midst of seven lampstands which is His church, the second is chapter 4-7, regarding the lamb who opens seven seals, the third is chapter 8-11 on the punishment of seven trumpets and the sealed 144,000, the fourth is chapter 12-14 on a woman and a Man-child will have persecution from dragon, two beasts and prostitute (Babylon), the fifth is chapter 15-16 on the punishment of seven bowls, the sixth is chapter 17-19 on the fall of the prostitute and two beasts, and the seventh is chapter 20-22 on the fall of dragon and New heaven and new earth. These seven parallel units explains the same period from the first coming of Jesus to His second coming. Most commentators agrees that seven sections fall into two groups; the first is chapter 1-11 (three first sections) on the earthly war between believers and non-believers and the victory of the church by the Lord, the second group is chapter 12-22 (four sections following) on the spiritual warfare between Christ and Satan and ultimate victory of Jesus, which provide the background scene of the first group and final creation of New heaven and new earth.
- 요한 계시록은 각종 상징들이 많이 등장해 그에 대한 해석들이 분분하고 또 요한 계시록을 미래에 일어날 사건들에 대한 예언으로 이해하는 등 다양한 접근을 시도하지만, 요한 계시록은 무엇보다도 1세기말 핍박과 환란을 겪고 있는 성도들을 위로하고 끝까지 믿음으로 승리할 것을 권하는 말씀으로 해석하고 또 그 교훈을 현재를 사는 우리들에게 주는 교훈으로 적용하는 것이 가장 전통적이고 건전한 해석인 줄로 믿습니다. 특히 논란이 많이 되는 각종 상징들중, 여인과 남아는 교회와 그리스도로, 용은 사단으로, 두 짐승은 교회를 핍박하는 지상의 통치자들과 거짓 선지자들로, 그리고 음녀 (바빌론)은 교회를 핍박하는 제국 (1세기 당시는 로마)를 상징하는 것으로 이해하면 되실 줄 믿습니다.[2]
- In the Book of Revelation, we can see many symbols so that there exists many different interpretation on them and some understand the book as the prophesy on the future to provide many other explanation on them, but it’s orthodoxy and sound approach to understand it as the book of exhortation that Paul wanted to comfort and encourage to keep their faith to those who had been going through the persecution from the world, especially Roman Emperor and then we may apply its message to our life now and here. Especially among controversial symbols, William Hendriksen suggests that Woman stands for His church and Man-child for Christ, while Dragon stands for Satan, two beats for earthly governments or authorities who persecute Church and anti-Christian religion, and a prostitute (Babylon) for Empire which persecutes church, i.e., Roman Empire in the first century.
- 오늘 본문 말씀에 나오는 새 하늘 새 땅에 대해서 묵상하면서, 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원합니다. 첫번째 새 하늘 새 땅은 죽음도 슬픔도 눈물도 눈물도 아픔도 없는 곳으로 첫 사람 아담과 이브가 선악과를 따 먹은 죄의 결과로 인간 세상에 찾아 온 죽음과 고통과 저주와 아픔들이 없는 영생을 우리가 누리게 된다는 사실은 오늘 이 죄로 얼룩진 땅에서 살아내야 하는 우리들에게 소망을 가지게 합니다. 두번째 우리가 예수님과 함께 영원히 왕노릇한다 (계 22:5) 는 사실입니다. 첫 창조후 우리에게 주신 문화 명령은 범죄함으로 말미암아 제대로 수행할 수 없었지만, 이제 새 하늘 새 땅에서는 예수 그리스도와 함께 영원히 왕노릇하며, 하나님의 우주적 통치를 실현해 갈 것입니다. 지금 천년 왕국 동안 우리는 이땅에서 왕의 성품과 자질들을 훈련하고 연습하고 있는 바, 소망을 가지고 오늘 주어진 삶에 더욱 성실히 임해야 할 줄로 믿습니다. 그리고 마지막으로는 새 하늘 새 땅에서는 하나님께서 친히 우리와 함께 계신다는 사실입니다. 영생은 하나님을 아는 것, 즉 하나님과의 교제를 떠나서 별도로 이루어지는 것이 아닙니다. 우리가 이곳에서 하나님을 더 알고 더 사랑하며 더 친밀히 교제하던 삶은 이제 천국에 올라가서도 무한하신 하나님의 지식에서 자라나며 그분의 아름다움을 직접 보며 더욱 깊은 사랑을 누리고 또 늘 함께 하시는 하나님과 더불어 영원의 교제를 통한 지복을 누리게 될 줄로 믿습니다. 이러한 궁극적 소망은 지금 이 세상에서 우리에게 주어진 삶을 넉넉히 이기게 할 줄로 믿습니다.
- While meditating on New heaven and new earth, we would like to think about few things; Firstly, it says that in new heaven and new earth, there will be no death, tears, sorrows, and sickness which were consequences of the first sin from Eden; death, curse, pain and weakness so that it provides us who have to live in this corrupted world tremendous hope. I hope we may all have this ultimate hope from this knowledge. Secondly, it is written that we will reign forever as His kings in new heaven and new earth, so that we may achieve the cultural mandate of dominion of His creations in Gen 1:28 together with His universal dominion, after exercising and cultivating our character and talent as His kings in this side of the world during the Millennial. Therefore we may be motivated in this hope. And finally, we may remember that God by Himself will be with us. The eternal life cannot be existed without Him so that as we do our best to know Him more, to love Him more and to live with Him more closely in this side of world, we will continue to grow into the knowledge of God who has infinite knowledge and wisdom and the love of God who has ultimate beauty in Him and enjoy the life of joy and happiness with Him who is the ultimate fountain of blessings. In this ultimate hope, I hope we may be soaked to endure today’s challenges as His disciples.
- 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회에, 부활절기 여섯번째 주일을 맞아, 하나님의 언약을 통해서 우리에게 약속된 새 하늘 새 땅의 소망을 가지고, 오늘의 모든 환란 가운데 넉넉히 이기고 마침내 약속된 지복을 누리게 되시기를 기도합니다.
- I pray that His beloved KPCM children, families and church may overcome all the challenges to enjoy His joy and blessings in the ultimate hope of New heaven and new earth in the sixth week of the Easter season.
Activity questions and thought behind
Q1 I am sure you may feel hard to study, don’t you! It is not easy to learn new things and exercise them. But, I hope you may know that even the enjoyment of life also is hard. I mean, we have to learn and to be accustomed to enjoy games or the hobbies. As you study bery hard in order to have more time to enjoy your life, you have to practice games or hobbies abit you want to enjoy in your future. I wonder if you have those have lots of friends at your school and community where you live. You may have Caucasian American friends, African American ones and Asian American ones and also the rich and the poor, the healthy and those who suffered with mental illness or physical health. By the way, I wonder how you feel when you saw they fight each other, saying they are better than others or because they are different? Would you share your thoughts or idea with your friends? 여러분 공부가 힘드시죠! 새로운 것들을 배우고 학습하는 일들이 쉽지는 않아요! 그런데 여러분 노는 것도 쉽지는 않답니다! 무슨 말인가 하면 게임이나 놀이들도 보면 이것 저것 연습도 하고 익숙해지고 나서야 재미가 있잖아요! 여러분들이 나이가 들어서 여유로운 생활을 하기 위해서 공부도 열심히 해야 하지만 또 나이가 들어서 시간 여유가 생길 때 그 시간을 유용하게 즐겁게 보내기 위해서 지금 취미 활동이나 여가 활동을 개발하고 연습해야 하는데, 혹 여러분들이 즐겁게 할 수 있는 취미 활동이나 여가 활동등이 있으시면 친구들과 함께 나누어 주시면 좋겠어요.
(인생을 여려 활동을 나누어 보면, 공부 (영적인 것 포함), 일 (영적인 사역 포함), 여가생활로 나눌 수 있는 것 같습니다. 이 질문을 통하여, 우리 아이들이, 공부와 일을 잘 하기 위해서 연습도 하고 노력도 해야 하듯, 자기에게 맞는 여가 생활과 취미 활동을 개발하기 위해서도 나름대로의 연습과 노력도 필요하다는 사실을 알게 되었으면 좋겠습니다. 물론 나이가 어렸을 때에는 공부를 주로 해야 되지만, 일 (사역)과 여가 생활에 대해서도 지금 연습이 필요하다는 사실을 깨닫고 준비함으로 공부와 일과 여가생활이 잘 조화되는 삶을 살 수 있기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
(Through this question, I hope we may know whether our children may experience already the racism in their lives and how they think and feel. Since they are still young, it is easy to think that they did not experience it, but in most cases they already have been exposed to it and experienced this social injustice and social evil so that I hope we may teach them to react in healthy and correct way. When your children express diverse thoughts, opinions, emotions, or experiences, I hope you may empathize with them to enjoy the conversation of empathy through active listening, sometimes asking their thoughts behind.)
Q2 According to today’s Bible verses, it is said that we were reconciled with God and have peace with others through being transformed into new humanity in Christ. I wonder how it looks like in our daily life at church or in the community, the life of ministry of reconciliation? Could you share your thoughts with your friends? 오늘 지금 여기서의 삶도 그렇듯, 앞으로 먼 훗날 우리가 살게 될 새 하늘 새 땅도 보니까, 무한하신 하나님을 더 알게 되고, 하나님과 친밀히 교제하며 하나님을 사랑하고 또 하나님과 기쁨으로 동행하는 삶이 될 것 같습니다. 그런데 그 새 하늘 새 땅에 들어가 행복하게 살기 위해서는 고전 13:13 말씀처럼, 믿음, 소망, 사랑 이 세가지는 영원히 있을 것이라고 하신 말씀처럼, 천국에 갈 소망 뿐 만 아니라 천국에 가서 어떤 소망을 가지고 살아갈지 어떤 믿음으로 살아갈지 어떤 사랑으로 살아갈지 지금 이 땅에서 연습도 하고 준비도 해 놓으면 좋을 것 같습니다. 여러분들은 어떤 소망과 어떤 믿음과 어떤 사랑을 지금 연습하며 살아갈지 서로의 생각을 나누어 주셨으면 좋겠어요.
(이 질문을 통하여, 우리 자녀들이 새 하늘 새 땅은 그저 무위도식하는 곳이 아니라, 오히려 영원하고 무한하신 하나님으로 인하여, 기쁨이 넘치고 소망이 넘치며 온전한 믿음과 사랑으로 생활하는 곳임을 알기를 원하며, 지금 우리가 이 땅에서 하는 모든 것은 그러한 영원한 삶을 준비하는 것임을 기억하고 더욱 힘을 내고 열심을 낼 수 있기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
