May God be with you all in His love and grace, in the early morning when my heart is still deeply broken with the hope for the spring.
Today in Holy Saturday, we would like to meditate on Matthew 27:57-66.
In today’s text and also in whole the Bible, we cannot find any words on Jesus and He seems hidden in Holy Saturday, except all the political tricks of the religious people. What he did in these three days has been a controversy among theologians, and so far, we could not find any answer to this question. So do we, i.e., we want not to try to find an answer for this, since we have to be humble, in some cases God did not open His will and deeds, by accepting our finitude in front of infinity of God the Absolute.
But, this Holy Saturday, between Holy Friday and Easter Sunday, provides deep meaning to us who live the time of the already not yet. Even though we received the promise of the resurrection, not yet the promised is not applied to us, but we have to live out the life of this side of the world. During this Holy Saturday, I hope you meditate for what and how you may live in this time between.
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Rom 6:4)”
Questions) How and for what do you live in this time between? For what and how do you live even when the time is still dark?

아직은 섣부른 봄소망에 가슴 저리는 날 새벽에 여러분 모두에게 하나님 아버지의 사랑과 은혜가 함께 하시기를 기도합니다.
오늘 성토요일 묵상하실 하나님의 말씀은 마태복음 27:57-66 입니다.
오늘 본문에는 예수님의 행적은 나오지 않고 무언가에 바쁜 세상 사람들, 아니 무덤가를 지킬려고 했던 종교인들의 이야기만 쓰여 있습니다. 예수님께서 십자가에서 돌아가신 후, 부활하시기까지 3일 동안 어디에 계셨을까라는 질문은 신학적으로도 참 난해한 질문이기도 하고 또 많은 의견들이 있습니다. 오늘 우리는 그러한 신학적 질문에 답할려고 하지는 않았으면 좋겠습니다. 때때로 성경에 계시되지 않았을 때, 우리는 그곳에 멈추어서서 우리가 다 이해할 수는 없는 하나님의 뜻과 행하심 앞에 겸손히 무릎꿇는 것이 우리의 유한성을 인정하며 무한하신 하나님 앞에서는 우리의 겸손한 자세이기 때문입니다.
그런데, 성금요일과 부활주일 사이 침묵의 시간인 성토요일이 오늘 우리가 All-ready-not-yet 의 시대 (이미 이루어진 그러나 아직의 시간) 를 살고 있는 우리에게 주시는 의미는 깊다고 봅니다. 부활의 약속을 받았지만 아직 그 약속은 우리의 삶에 완전하게 이루어지지 않았고, 우리의 영은 중생하였지만, 아직 육신을 벗어 버리지 못한 채, 이 땅에서 살아야 하는 우리, 그리고 때때로 깊은 밤처럼 약속의 기미조차 보이지 않는 삶을 살기도 해야 하는 우리이기 때문입니다. 오늘 성 토요일! 우리가 ‘이미 이루어진 그러나 아직인 시대에 살면서, 우리가 어떤 소망을 품고 살아야 할 것인지, 과연 그 시간들이 우리가 무엇을 위해 살 것인지 함께 생각해 보며, 오늘도 주님과 함께 동행하는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.
“그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라” (롬 6:4)
질문) 하나님의 나라의 도래로 부터 완성에 이르기 까지의 시간을 살고 있는 우리는 오늘 우리에게 주어진 삶을 무엇을 바라보며, 어떻게 살아야 할것인지, 사랑과 정의로 다스려지는 하나님의 나라를 이 시대로 당겨와 살고 있는 우리들에게 세상은 아직 어둠 속에 잠겨 있고, 아니 점점 더 밤이 깊어진다고 느낄 때, 과연 우리는 어떤 마음으로 무엇을 위해, 어떻게 살 것인지?
