Job 2:1-10
1 On another day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him.
2 And the Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
3 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”
4 “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life.
5 But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
6 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”
7 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.
8 Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
9 His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”
10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said. (NIV)
욥기 2:1-10
- 또 하루는 하나님의 아들들이 와서 여호와 앞에 서고 사탄도 그들 가운데에 와서 여호와 앞에 서니
- 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 네가 어디서 왔느냐 사탄이 여호와께 대답하여 이르되 땅을 두루 돌아 여기 저기 다녀 왔나이다
- 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 네가 내 종 욥을 주의하여 보았느냐 그와 같이 온전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자가 세상에 없느니라 네가 나를 충동하여 까닭 없이 그를 치게 하였어도 그가 여전히 자기의 온전함을 굳게 지켰느니라
- 사탄이 여호와께 대답하여 이르되 가죽으로 가죽을 바꾸오니 사람이 그의 모든 소유물로 자기의 생명을 바꾸올지라
- 이제 주의 손을 펴서 그의 뼈와 살을 치소서 그리하시면 틀림없이 주를 향하여 욕하지 않겠나이까
- 여호와께서 사탄에게 이르시되 내가 그를 네 손에 맡기노라 다만 그의 생명은 해하지 말지니라
- 사탄이 이에 여호와 앞에서 물러가서 욥을 쳐서 그의 발바닥에서 정수리까지 종기가 나게 한지라
- 욥이 재 가운데 앉아서 질그릇 조각을 가져다가 몸을 긁고 있더니
- 그의 아내가 그에게 이르되 당신이 그래도 자기의 온전함을 굳게 지키느냐 하나님을 욕하고 죽으라
- 그가 이르되 그대의 말이 한 어리석은 여자의 말 같도다 우리가 하나님께 복을 받았은즉 화도 받지 아니하겠느냐 하고 이 모든 일에 욥이 입술로 범죄하지 아니하니라 (개역개정)

Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? Job 2:10
Tiffani awoke in the pitch-black darkness of an Air Canada jet. Still wearing her seat belt, she’d slept while the other passengers exited and the plane was parked. Why didn’t anyone wake her? How did she get here? She shook the cobwebs from her brain and tried to remember.
Have you found yourself in a place you never expected? You’re too young to have this disease, and there’s no cure. Your last review was excellent; why is your position being eliminated? You were enjoying the best years of your marriage. Now you’re starting over, as a single parent with a part-time job.
How did I get here? Job may have wondered as “he sat among the ashes” (JOB 2:8). He‘d lost his children, his wealth, and his health, in no time flat. He couldn’t have guessed how he got here; he just knew he had to remember.
Job remembered his Creator and how good He’d been. He told his wife, “Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” ( v. 10). Job remembered he could count on this good God to be faithful. So he lamented. He screamed at the heavens. And he mourned in hope, “I know that my redeemer lives,” and that “in my flesh I will see God” (19:25–26). Job clung to hope as he remembered how the story began and how it ends.-MIKE WITTMER

우리가 하나님께 복을 받았은즉 화도 받지 않겠느냐 [욥기 2:10]
티파니는 칠흑 같이 어두운 에어 캐나다 비행기 안에서 잠이 깼습니다. 다른 승객들이 다 내리고 비행기가 계류장에 주차되는 동안에도 그녀는 여전히 안전벨트를 맨 채로 잠들어 있었습니다. ‘왜 아무도 깨우질 않았을까? 어떻게 이렇게 됐지?’ 그녀는 혼미한 머리를 흔들어 깨우며 기억을 살려보려고 애를 썼습니다.
당신도 전혀 예상치 못했던 일을 당해본 적이 있습니까? 너무나 젊은 나이에 치료법도 없는 병에 걸리거나, 직장에서 지난번 실적평가는 아주 좋았는데 자리가 없어지거나, 참으로 단란한 결혼생활을 하고 있었는데 이제는 임시직에 혼자 아이를 키우게 되는 경우들 말입니다.
‘어떻게 이렇게 됐지?’ “욥이 재 가운데 앉아”(욥기 2:8) 있을 때에도 그렇게 생각했을지 모릅니다. 욥은 자녀들과 부와 건강을 한 번에 다 잃어 버렸습니다. 그는 자기가 어떻게 거기까지 왔는지 짐작도 할 수 없었습니다. 단지 기억해야할 일이 있음을 알았을 뿐입니다.
욥은 그의 창조주를 기억하며 그분이 얼마나 선하신 분이었는지를 기억했습니다. 그는 아내에게 말했습니다. “우리가 하나님께 복도 받았는데 재난을 당하지 말라는 법이 있겠소?”(10절, 현대인의 성경). 욥은 신실함을 지키려면 이 선하신 하나님을 의지해야 한다는 것을 기억했습니다. 그래서 그는 한탄하며 하늘을 향해 절규했습니다. 그리고 소망 가운데 이렇게 애도했습니다. “내가 알기에는 나의 대속자가 살아 계시니…… 내가 육체 밖에서 하나님을 보리라”(욥기 19:25-26). 욥은 모든 이야기가 어떻게 시작해서 어떻게 끝나는지를 기억했기 때문에 소망에 매달릴 수 있었습니다.
무슨 상황 때문에 번민하고 두려워합니까? 어떻게 하면 태도를 회복하여 소망과 기쁨으로 살 수 있을까요?
하나님 아버지, 저는 놀라도 하나님은 놀라지 않으십니다. 하나님은 전에도 선하셨고 지금도 선하십니다.
