”I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.” [Romans 15:30]
For the preacher, prayer is not simply the duty of his profession, but a privilege. It is a necessity. Air is not more necessary to the lungs than prayer is to the preacher. The preacher must pray; the preacher must be prayed for. These two propositions are wedded into a union that should never be separated.
It will take all the praying he can do, to meet the fearful responsibilities and success in his great work. The true preacher realizes the importance of prayer and spiritual growth. He therefore values it when God’s people pray for him.
Dear God, I pray for our pastor today. Help and guide him in his important work and bless him with Your abundant blessings. Amen. [The Power of Prayer]
