영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.

오늘은 연중시기 스물네번째 주일입니다. 지난 주에는 이스라엘의 계속된 우상숭배와 죄악 때문에 결국 북이스라엘도 남유다도 망하여 이스라엘 백성들이 포로로 잡혀 가게 되지만, 예언된 70여년이 지나자 하나님께서 은혜 언약을 근거로 그들을 다시 회복시켜 주시겠다는 약속을 하시고 이스라엘 백성에게 이를 위하여 기도하라고 말씀하셨던 에스겔 예언서를 살펴보았습니다. 이번 주에는 시편 34편을 살펴 보면서, 사울을 이을 다음 왕으로 기름부음을 받은 다윗이 마침내 왕이 되기 까지 10여년 동안을 그를 시기하여 죽이려는 사울을 피해 광야와 심지어 적국을 전전하는 고난과 어려움 속에서도 하나님의 구원을 받고, 하나님을 찬양하는 시편34편을 살펴 보면서, 판데믹을 지나는 상황에서 어떻게 추수감사절 (11월26일)을 어떻게 맞지할 것인지 또 어떤 감사를 올려드릴 것인지 함께 생각해 보는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.
Today is the 24th Sunday of the Ordinary Time. Last week, we learned that God gave a promise to the Israelites who continued to sin by idolatries and wickedness, to recover them from their Babylon exile after seventy years, based on His eternal covenant of grace and to ask them to pray for that, through the book of Ezekiel. This week, through the Psalm 34, we would like to prepare Thanksgiving day (Nov 26th) in this season of the pandemic, as we look at David, who was anointed as the next king to succeed Saul and was redeemed with the help of God Saul who was jealous and tried to kill him, while he hid himself in the wilderness for 10 plus years.
- 다윗은 사울을 이을 왕으로 사무엘 선지자에게서 기름 부음을 받았고, 마침내 블레셋과의 전투에서 골리앗을 죽이고 이스라엘 역사 전면에 등장했던 것을 살펴 본 적이 있습니다. 그런데, 그렇게 골리앗을 죽이고 승리의 개가를 부르며 돌아오는 사울왕을 맞이하러 나온 여인들이 “사울이 죽인 자는 천천이요 다윗은 만만이로다 (삼상 18:7)”고 노래하자 사울은 다윗을 질투하기 시작했고, 그 이튿날 다윗이 사울을 위해 수금을 탈 때, 창을 던져 다윗을 죽이려고 하였으며, 심지어 그의 딸 미갈과 혼인하여 사위가 된 후에도, 사울은 계속 그를 죽이려하였습니다.
- David was anointed by the prophet Samuel as King Saul’s successor. We saw that he finally killed Goliath in the battle with the Philistines and appeared in the forefront of Israel’s history. However, when the women sang, to greet King Saul with a song, “Saul killed a thousand, and David killed ten thousand (1 Sam. 18:7),” Saul began to be jealous of David. The next day, when David was playing the harp for Saul, he threw a spear to kill David, and even after marrying his daughter Michal and becoming son-in-law, Saul kept trying to kill him.
- 그렇게 사울이 다윗을 죽이려고 음모를 꾸밀 때, 다윗과 친구가 된 사울의 아들 요나단의 도움으로, 피신 길에 들어서게 되었고, 사울이 죽은 후, 마침내 왕이 될때까지 다윗은 광야를 전전하며, 심지어 사울을 피해 적국에 까지 숨어들어 도망다녀야 만 했습니다.
- When Saul conspired to kill David, with the help of Saul’s son Jonathan, who became a friend with David, he entered the way of refuge. David went through the wilderness to escape Saul and even fled to the enemy country, until he finally became king after Saul died.
- 이러한 고난과 환난의 시기를 통해서, 용맹하고 지략이 뛰어나며 자기 사람들을 품는 왕으로 다윗은 성장하였지만, 참으로 험난한 시절이었습니다. 자신을 죽이려 쫓아다니는 사울을 죽일 기회가 찾아 왔음에도 불구하고 “여호와께서는 나와 왕사이를 판단하사 여호와께서 나를 위하여 왕에게 보복하시려니와 내 손으로는 왕을 해하지 아니하리이다 (삼상 24:12)”라고 하며 두번이나 사울을 살려줌으로 하나님의 자리, 즉 심판의 자리에 앉지 아니하는 신실한 믿음을 보일 때도 있었지만, 어떤 날은 사울을 두려워 한 나머지, 적군인 블레셋 땅의 가드왕 아기스에게 피신하기도 하였다가, 오히려 그를 죽이려는 아기스와 그의 신하들을 속이기 위하여 “미친 체하고 대문짝에 그적거리며 침을 수염에 흘리기”도 하면서, 도망하기도 하였습니다.(삼상 21장) 그리고 그 때에도 그를 찾아 온 환난 당한 자들과 빚진 자들과 마음이 원통한 자들(삼상 22장)을 자기 사람들로 받아 훈련을 시켜 용감한 장수들로 만들기도 했지만, 또 한편으로는 다시 가드왕 아기스에게 찾아가 애원하여 시글락 땅에 머무르다가(삼상 27), 비록 블레셋 장군들이 받아 주지는 않았지만 자기 동족 이스라엘을 치려는 블레셋 군대 편에 참여 하려고도 했습니다. (삼상29장)
- Even though these times of hardships and tribulations made David grow up as a courageous, resourceful, and self-bearing king, but it was a really difficult time. Even though there was a time to see his faith in God, when he did not kill Saul twice, not sitting in the place of God, the place of judgement, despite the opportunity to kill Saul, saying, “The LORD will judge between me and the king, and the LORD will retaliate against the king for me, but I will not harm the king with my hand” (1 Sam. 24:12), some days he fled to Achish, the king of Garth in the land of the Philistines who was an enemy due to the fear, to escape from Saul. However, when they tried to kill him, he escaped from them, by “pretending to be crazy, stinging at the door, drooling on his beard” (1Sam 21). And in one hands, he showed his leadership to accept the troubled people, the debtors, and those who were grieved (1 Sam. 22), and to train them as a brave soldiers, but, on the other hand, he visited Achish king of Gath again to beg to stay in the land of Ziklag (1 Sam.27), and even tried to join the Philistine army against his own people Israelites, although the Philistine generals did not accept it (1 Sam. 29).
- 오늘 이 시편 34편은 다윗이 사울을 피하여 가드왕 아기스에게로 도망갔다가 오히려 죽을 위험에 처해서 미친 체함으로 도망나온 사건 (삼상 21장) 을 배경으로 (왕의 이름을 아기스 대신 아비멜렉이라 한 것은 논란이 있음) 환난에서 구원하시는 하나님께 대한 감사 시편입니다.
- Today’s Psalm 34 is a thanksgiving psalm of David who wrote this after he fled from Achish by pretending to be insane (1 Sam.21). (There is a controversy that the king’s name was Abimelech instead of Achish.)
- 시편 34편은 먼저 하나님께 감사와 찬양과 영광을 올려드리고 (1-3절) 이어서 여호와께 피하는 겸손한 자(8), 즉 하나님을 경외(9)하는 의인은 환난 때에 여호와를 찾음으로 구원을 받을 수 있다(6)고 하며, “여호와의 선하심을 맛보아 알라 (8)”고 권면하고 있습니다 (4-10절) 그리고 하나님을 경외하는 자는 정직한 말과 선한 행동을 하여 화평을 따르는 삶을 산다(13-14)고 말하고 있으며 (11-14절) 이어서, 여호와를 경외하는 그에게는 비록 고난이 많을 지라도(19) 마음이 상하여 통회하며(18), 부르짖을 때에 하나님께서 들으시고 모든 환난에서 건지실 것(17) 이라고 말하고 있습니다 (15-22절).
- Psalm 34 first gives thanks, praise, and glory to God (vv. 1-3). As he was redeemed from his afflictions, he exhorted the congregations to see and taste the goodness of God that and when the humble take a refuge in the LORD (8) and the righteous fear God (9), they might be saved through seeking the LORD in times of trouble (vv. 4-10). And those who fear God should live a life of peace through honest words and good deeds (vv. 11-14). Even though those who fear the Lord suffer a lot (19), with his broken heart and contrite (18), and when he cries out, God will hear and deliver him from all troubles (17) (vv. 15-22).
- 지금 우리는 판데믹이라는 참으로 힘든 시기를 지나고 있습니다. 많은 사람들이 바이러스에 대한 두려움과 사회, 정치, 경제등 미래에 대한 불확실성에 대한 걱정으로 불안해 하고 있는 이 때에, 하나님을 경외하며 여호와를 찾을 때에(4, 6, 10, 15, 17) 우리를 모든 두려움(4)에서 건져 주시고, 생명과 연수(12)를 허락해 주시는 하나님께 피하여 하나님께 부르짖음으로 하나님의 선하심을 맞보아 알고(8) 하나님께 감사와 찬송과 영광을 올려드리는(4) 우리 모든 어린이들과 가정과 교회가 되기를 소망합니다.
- Now, we are going through a very difficult time of the pandemic. When many people are anxious over the fear of the virus and the uncertainty about the future, those who take a refuge in the LORD, fear God, and seek the LORD (4, 6, 10, 15, 17), can experience God’s goodness when crying out to God, be rescued from all fears (4) and afflictions, and be given life (12). I pray that all of our children, families, and church may experience His goodness and give thanks, praise, and give glory to God (8).

Q1 I wonder how David felt when he freed to Achish the king of Gath, escaping from Saul who wanted to kill him? And I wonder how David felt after he freed from Achish, by pretending to be insane before him? 다윗이 자기를 잡아 죽일려는 사울왕이 얼마나 두려웠으면 그를 피해 적군인 블레셋의 가드왕 아기스에게로 도망갔겠습니까? 그때 다윗의 마음은 어떠했을까요? 그런데 가드왕 아기스가 그를 죽일려고 했울 때 일부러 미친 척하고는 겨우 도망나왔는데 그때 그는 어떤 마음이었을까요?

(Through this question, I hope that it will be a time to empathize with the heart of David, who had hard time to escape from Saul in the wilderness and even in other country. When expressing a variety of thoughts, opinions, feelings, and experiences, sympathize with me, sometimes thinking, I hope that you will be able to actively listen and share sympathy with the children while asking the reason for this.)
Q2 I wonder if you feel fears or anxiety in this season of the Pandemic? But while reminding that David could be redeemed from his fears and afflictions, when he cried for help to the LORD, would you share your testimony that God answered to your prayer during this pandemic or your prayer list even though it is not yet answered? 여러분! 여러분들도 판데믹 때문에 때때로 두렵고 불안하지는 않으신가요? 그렇지만 오늘 여호와를 경외하는 다윗이 하나님을 찾을 때, 하나님께서 그의 두려움으로부터 구해주셨던 것을 생각하며, 이번 판데믹 상황에서 하나님께서 여러분들이 기도에 어떻게 응답하셨는지? 그런 간증이 있으면 서로 나누어 보기를 원합니다. 혹 아직 응답받지 못한 기도제목이 있으면 같이 나누어 주셔도 좋겠습니다.
(이 질문을 통하여, 혹 우리 자녀들이 겪고 있을 두려움과 불안함은 없는지 알아보고 그러한 감정을 표현할 때 공감해 줌으로써 하나님의 위로가 함께 하시기를 소망합니다. 그리고 그 두려움과 불안보다 더 큰 하나님을 생각하고 그것을 극복하고 또 이겨낼 수 있기를 소망해 봅니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시기도 하고, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
(Through this question, I hope that God’s comfort will be with our children by finding out great God who is bigger than them, if there is any fear and anxiety that our children may be experiencing, and by empathizing them when expressing those feelings. I hope that you will be able to communicate with your children by actively listening and empathizing with your children by asking them the reason for their thoughts, sometimes asking the reason for their thoughts, opinions, feelings and experiences.)
