오늘은 주님 오심을 기다리는 대강절 넷째 주일입니다. 지난 주에는, 로마서 5:1-11 말씀을 통해, 우리 크리스천들은 하나님의 영광을 덧입을 소망으로 인한 기쁨과, 심지어 고난 중에도, 연단을 통해 우리에게 소망을 이룰 성품을 덧입는 기쁨과 그 모든 과정 속에서 함께 하시는 하나님 안에서의 기쁨을 누리며 보내었습니다. 이번 주에는 시편67편을 통해서, 예수님의 초림으로 시작된 하나님 나라가 다시 오실 그 날에 마침내 절정에 이루게 될 것을 소망하며, 주님의 다시 오심을 기다리며, 은혜의 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.
Today is the fourth Sunday of Advent waiting for the Lord to come. Last week, through Romans 5:1-11, we learned how Christians rejoice in the hope of the glory of God and even in the sufferings while putting on the character that will fulfill our hopes through refinement, and also rejoice in God who is with us always. This week, through Psalm 67, we may wait for His second coming, while hoping that the kingdom of God, which began with the first advent of Jesus, will finally reach its peak.
- 시편 67편도 쓰여진 배경이나 저자에 대해서 잘 알려져 있지 않습니다만, Praise Psalm (찬양시편) 이라고 할 수 있을 것인데, 학자에 따라서는 본 시편의 중심 주제를 1절에서 찾아 “주님의 백성들에 대한 하나님의 축복과 그에 따른 하나님께 대한 찬송”으로 보며 축복에 대한 감사 시편으로 부르기도 합니다. 그러나 3절과 5절의 두개의 반복절 (two refrains) 과, 시작절 (vv.1-2)와 마지막절 (vv.6-7) 또한 Inclusio (수미상관법 구조, 문학적으로 한 단락임을 드러내기 위해, 중요한 단어와 구절, 또는 문장이 그 단락의 처음과 끝에 반복되는 문학적 장치) 를 구성하고 있다는 점을 고려할 때, 이 시편 67편을 대칭병행순환 (Chiasm structure, 즉, A-B-C-B-A’ 형태로 유사한 주제를 대칭으로 배치시켜 가운데 있는 중심 주제를 부각시키는 히브리 문장 구조) 구조로 이해할 수 있겠습니다.

A′. Prayer for God’s Blessing (하나님의 축복을 구하는 기도) (vv. 6–7)
Even though Psalm 67 is not well known about the background or author, some scholars say that it could be Psalm of Praise and its central theme is in verse 1, i.e., “God’s blessing for His people” which calls a praise to God for blessings. However, the two refrains of verses 3 and 5 and inclusio which is a literary device to show that the content composes one paragraph between two repeated same phrases or two phrases which contain the same theme, in the beginning clause (vv.1-2) and the last clause (vv.6-7) shows us the chiasmic structure (a Hebrew literary structure that emphasizes the central theme in the middle by arranging similar subjects symmetrically in the form of a chiasm structure, that is, A-B-C-B-A’) which emphasizes the central theme in v.4 as follows;

C. Prayer for the Rule of God (v. 4)

- 따라서, 본 시편은 모든 선함의 근원이 되신 하나님께서는, 그의 은혜로 말미암아, 지구상에 있는 모든 사람들과 나라들이 살며 누릴 수 있도록 해 주실 뿐 만 아니라 (v.6ff), 특별히 그들 중에서 아무런 공로가 없는 이스라엘 백성들을 그의 기쁘신 뜻대로 택하셔서 구원해 주시고 또 축복해 주심으로 말미암아 (vv.1, 6), 하나님의 은혜로 말미암는 하나님의 도(way)와 구원 (salvation)을 세상으로 알게 함으로, 하나님을 경외하게 하며 (v.7) 모든 나라들이 하나님을 찬송하도록 하도록 하는데 (vv.3, 5) 이러한 하나님의 구원은 결국 하나님 나라, 즉 정의 (justice)와 기쁨 (joy)과 평화 (peace)로 (v.4) 다스림 받는 하나님 통치 (v.4)가 이루어지는 하나님의 나라를 지향하고 있다고 말하고 있는 것입니다.
- Therefore, in this psalm, God, who is the source of all goodness, not only cares all people and nations on earth to live and enjoy, through his common grace (v.6ff) but also, in particular, saves and blesses His underserved people according to his pleasing will (vv.1, 6), and makes the world know God’s way and salvation and the fear God (v.7), so that all nations may praise God (vv.3, 5). This salvation of God is ultimately pointing to the kingdom of God where God rules (v.4) in justice, joy, and peace (v.4).
- 우리가 대강절 넷째주를 보내면서, 함께 묵상해 보기를 원하는 것은, 첫번째, 하나님의 구원, (יְשׁוּעָה ,yešûʿâ 예수아) 는 믿어서 구원받아 축복받고 천국간다는 개인적인 구원 혹은 어떤 면에서 이기적인 차원의 구원으로만 이해되어서는 안된다는 점입니다. 창 12:3 “땅의 모든 족속이 너로 말미암아 복을 얻을 것이라” 는 말씀과 ”출 19:5-6 “세계가 다 내게 속하였나니 너희가 내 말을 잘 듣고 내 언약을 지키면 너희는 모든 민족 중에서 내 소유가 되겠고 너희가 내게 대하여 제사장 나라가 되며 거룩한 백성이 되리라”는 말씀에서 볼 수 있는 것처럼, 예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서 십자가에서 다 이루신 하나님의 구원은 죄로 인하여 고통받고 있는 전 인류와 창조세계의 회복을 향한 하나님의 미션 (missio Dei, 즉 mission of God) 으로, 하나님께서 왕으로 기쁨과 평화와 정의로 다스리시는 하나님 나라를 세우고자 하시는 것임을 잊지 말아야 할 것입니다.
- As we celebrate the fourth week of Advent, we want to meditate some as follows. First, God’s salvation, (יְשׁוּעָה ,yešûʿâ Yeshua) should not be understood only as a personal salvation that means to believe, be saved, blessed, and go to heaven, such as a salvation in some way selfish. As Gen 12:3 says that “All the tribes of the earth will be blessed through you” and also Exodus 19:5-6 says that “All the world belongs to me. If you listen to my words and keep my covenant, you will be my own among all nations, and you will become a kingdom of priests and a holy people to me,” we can see, God’s salvation, which Jesus came to earth and accomplished on the cross, is God’s mission (missio Dei, or mission of God) to restore His created yet corrupted world. In order words, we must not forget that God wants to establish the kingdom of God where he rules as King in joy, peace, and justice.
- 그런데 4절에서 묘사하고 있는 하나님의 나라는 예수님의 초림으로 시작되어 (inaugurated) 결국 예수님께서 재림하실 때 성취 (consummation) 되는데, 그 의미는 예수님의 주되심 (Lordship) 아래 화해 (reconciliation)와 실현 (fulfillment)과 성취 (consummation)로 이해할 수 있습니다. 즉 죄로 인해 하나님과 원수되었던 우리가 예수님의 대속 죽음으로 말미암아, 하나님과 화해하여 하나님과 평화를 이루는 것이요, 본래 창조 본연의 모습, 즉 하나님의 형상을 회복함으로 주 안에서 의로운 인간성을 실현하는 것일 뿐 만 아니라, 또한 더불어 새하늘 새땅에서 하나님의 영광을 덧입는 것을 의미하는 것입니다.
- Here the kingdom of God, which is inaugurated at Jesus’ first coming and will be consummated at His second coming, can be defined as the reconciliation, fulfillment and consummation of His creation under Jesus’ lordship. In other words, we, who acted as enemies against God, were reconciled with God through the vicarious death of Jesus and have peace with God and the righteous humanity will be fulfilled in the Lord through restoring the image of God and also we will be clothed with the glory of God in the new heaven and earth.
- 따라서, 우리 크리스천들은 믿음을 통하여 은혜로 얻는 구원을 통해, 하나님 나라의 백성이 되어, 이 땅에 사랑과 정의로 다스려지는 하나님의 나라를 선포하며, 또한 삶으로 보여주도록 부르심을 받았음 (하나님의 미션이 이제 우리의 미션이 됨)을 깨닫고, 여호와 하나님께서는 우주와 만물을 주재하시는 주권자이시요 또한 모든 좋은 것을 주시는 축복의 근원이 되시며, 공의와 사랑으로 하나님의 나라를 다스리시는 왕이 되심을 선포하며, 하나님 나라를 이 땅에 확장해감으로, 하나님께 찬양과 영광을 돌리는 삶을 살아야 될 줄로 믿습니다.
- Therefore, Christians have to proclaim His kingship and show the life in the kingdom of God of love and justice to the world, after becoming people in His kingdom through salvation. In that mission we are called so that the mission of God became our mission from God to proclaim His sovereignty over the universe and all things in it and that He is the King to reign His kingdom as the source of the blessings and to expand His kingdom in the world to glorify Him.
- 특별히 대강절 넷째주를 보내면서, 공생애를 시작하시면서 부터 “때가 찾고 하나님의 나라가 가까이 왔으니 회개하고 복음을 믿으라 (막 1:15)”고 외치시며, “내가 이를 위하여 왔노라 (막 1:38)”고 하신 우리 주님을 생각하며, 하나님의 나라를 우리 마음에도 또 가정과 학교와 교회와 커뮤니티에도 세워가는 그래서 하나님 나라 안에서 주시는 모든 축복과 은혜를 받아 누리는 어린이들과 가정과 교회되기를 기도합니다.
- After meditating on His kingdom during the fourth week of Advent, as Jesus shouted from the beginning of his public ministry that “The time has come and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the Gospel (Mark 1:15)” and “I have come for this (Mark 1:38),” while we build the kingdom of God in our hearts, in our homes, schools, churches, and communities, I pray that our children and all our family and church may receive the grace and blessings from His kingdom.

Q1 Jesus came here to build the Kingdom of God and proclaimed “His Kingdom is near”, wandering around here and there. I wonder if you see any kinds of injustice, cold love or un-peace in your family, school or community? 예수님께서는 기쁨과 평화와 정의가 가득한 하나님의 나라를 건설하기 위하여 이 땅에 오셨고 또한 “하나님 나라가 가까왔다”고 말씀하시며 이 마을 저 마을을 돌아다니시며 전하셨습니다. 여러분들이 살고 있는 혹은 속해 있는 학교나 커뮤니티에 여러분들이 보시기에 아직도 하나님의 나라가 이루어지지 않은 도전이 되는 것들 (예, 부정, 사랑이 없음, 다툼등) 이 있다면 나누어 주시면 좋겠습니다.
(이 질문을 통해, 우리 아이들이 자기가 속해 있는 학교와 커뮤니티를 한번 돌아보면서, 주님 보시기에 기뻐하지 않으실 것들이 있는지 보고, 그곳에 우리 주님께서 정의와 사랑과 평화가 넘치는 하나님 나라가 세워지기를 원하실 것이란 사실을 떠 올려봄으로 각자에게 주어진 사명을 remind 해 보는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)

We hope that you will be able to have a conversation of positive listening and empathy with your children by empathizing with them when expressing various thoughts, opinions, feelings and experiences, and sometimes asking the reason for their thoughts.)
