We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
오늘은 2021년 두번째 주일입니다. 지난 주에는, 신명기 8장 말씀을 통하여, 광야에서 연단된 겸손한 마음은 하나님의 축복을 받을 수 있는 마음이며 또한 하나님께 감사와 찬양을 올려 드리는 마음임을 배웠습니다. 이번 주에는 롬 8장을 통하여, 그러한 시련과 고난의 길에서 우리를 끝까지 붙들어 주시는 하나님의 사랑을 통해, 넉넉히 이기는 삶에 대해 묵상해 보며, 함께 은혜 나눌 수 있기를 소망합니다.
Today is the second Sunday in 2021. Last week, through Deuteronomy 8, we learned that a humble heart trained in the wilderness is a heart that can receive God’s blessing and give thanks and praise to God. This week, through Romans 8, I hope that we can meditate on a life of abundant victory with the love of God, who holds us through the path of trials and suffering.
- 지난 번에 한번 살펴본데로, 로마서는 복음, 즉 구원의 교리와 구원 이후의 삶에 대해 신학적으로 가장 잘 설명되어 있는 모든 성경중에서도 보석과 같은 말씀으로, 1-2장은 죄와 심판 그리고 구원의 필요성에 대해, 3-5장은 칭의, 6-8장은 성화, 9-11장은 예정, 그리고 12-16장은 구원받은 사람들의 거룩하고 선하며 사랑하며 사는 삶에 대하여 논하고 있습니다.
- As we looked at last time, the book of Romans is like a jewel among all the books in the Bible that best explains theologically about the gospel. Chapters 1-2 are about sin, its consequence, and the need for salvation; chapters 3-5 are justification; chapters 6-8 are sanctification; chapters 9-11 are predestination; and chapters 12-16 are about the holy, good, loving lives of the saved are discussed.
- 오늘의 본문 8장은 6-8장, 즉 성화에 대한 논의를 마무리 하면서, 하나님의 사랑은, 성화 과정에서 우리가 겪을 수 있는 모든 도전과 고난들을 넉넉히 이기게 한다고 말씀해 주고 있습니다. 6-8장에서 말하는 성화에 대해 간략히 살펴보면, 6장에서는 성화란, 우리가 믿음으로 성령을 통하여 그리스도와 연합함으로, 죄에 대하여 죽고 의에 대하여 사는 삶 (롬 6:3-5)으로, 점점 거룩해지는 과정으로, 그 결국은 영생에 이른다 (롬 6:22) 고 말씀하고 있습니다. 그런데, 성령의 내주로 거듭나 칭의 즉 의롭다함을 받고, 성화의 과정에 들어간 하나님의 자녀 (롬 8:16) 가 된 성도는 하나님의 뜻대로 살고자 하지만, 아직 그렇게 살 수 있는 능력은 없는 상태 (롬 7:18) 로, 우리를 의의 길로 인도 (롬 8:14) 하시는 그리스도와 함께 (롬 8:10) 내주하시는 성령의 도우심을 힘입어 (롬 8:9), 육신의 정욕을 따르지 않고, 성령의 인도하심을 따라 행하여야 (롬 8:4-6) 한다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 그렇게 의롭게 살면서 거룩함에 이르러 (롬 6:22), 그리스도와 함께 영생과 기쁨과 영광을 받게 될 하나님의 자녀들은 이 땅을 사는 동안 또한 고난을 받게 될 수 밖에 없는데 (롬 8:17), 우리를 택하시고 (롬 8:33) 부르셔서 (롬 8:28), 예수님의 십자가 대속 죽음을 통하여 (롬 8:34) 의롭다 (롬 8:33) 하시고 또 우리를 위하셔서 (롬 8:31) 생명과 경건에 (벧후 1:3) 속한 모든 것을 주시며 (롬 8:32), 지금도 우리를 위하여 간구 하시며 (롬 8:34) 우리를 끝까지 사랑하시는 (롬 8:37) 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑 (롬 3:39) 으로 말미암아 우리가 넉넉히 이기게 될 것 (롬 8:37) 이라고 말씀하고 있습니다.
- As Chapter 8 of today’s text concludes the discussion of the sanctification of chapters 6-8, it says that through God’s love, we can overcome all the challenges and hardships which we may face in the process of sanctification. Briefly looking at the sanctification process in chapters 6-8, chapter 6 says that the sanctification is a life that we die to sin and live to righteousness (Rom. 6:3-5), as we are united with Christ through the Holy Spirit by faith. This process results in eternal life (Rom. 6:22) after being sanctified. However, believers who have become children of God (Rom 8:16) who were born again by the Holy Spirit, were justified, and have entered the process of sanctification (Rom. 7:18), do not have ability to live in God’s pleasing will, even though they want to so that they have to live according to the Spirit’s leading (Rom 8:4-6), through the hep of the Spirit, with Jesus who leads them to the path of righteousness (Rom 8:14), not following the lust of the flesh. The children of God who will live righteously to come to holiness (Rom. 6:22) and receive eternal life, joy, and glory with Christ, are bound to suffer while living on this side of the world (Rom. 8:17), but, they will be able to fully overcome all those challenges, by the love of God who chose (Rom 8:33), called (Rom 8:28), justified (Rom 8:33) through Jesus’ ransom death on the cross (Rom 8:33), gave everything that belongs to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3, Rom 8:32), still intercedes (Rom 8:34) and loves to the end (Rom 8:37).
- 오늘의 본문을 통해서, 우리가 함께 생각해 보기를 원하는 것은, 첫번째, 우리게 받게 될 영광은 현재의 고난을 감내하고도 남을, 도저히 비교할 수 없는 영광이며, 또한 그 영광은, 예수님께서 이미 우리에에 주셨고 (요 17:22), 우리가 주님을 바라보며 쫓아 가는 과정에서 점점 주님의 형상을 닮아갈 뿐 만 아니라 (롬 8:29), 점점 더 영광스런 존재로 변화되어 간다 (고후 3:18) 는 사실입니다. 그런데, 두번째 그렇게 주님을 쫓아 주님을 닮아가며 주님의 영광을 덧입는 과정은 여러가지 도전과 고난이 있을 수 있다는 사실입니다. 자기 능력을 의지하여 스스로 구원을 이루고 자기 영광을 구하는 옛사람 (헬라어 σάρξ 사륵스, 한글성경 육신)에 대한 끝없는 자기 부인 (self-denial) 과, 정욕과 세상을 십자가에 못박는 것과, 예수님께서 걸어가신 좁은 길을 쫓아가는 것과, 죄의 유혹을 떨쳐버리는 것은 때때로 외로움과 고난과 핍박과 환난의 길일 수도 있습니다. 그러나, 우리가 기억해야 할 것은 하나님의 사랑 (v.39) 입니다. 때때로 우리속에 끊임없이 일어나는 죄성으로 인하여 지쳐있을 때에도, 혹은 세상의 거대한 힘에 짓눌려 힘겨워하고 있을 때에도, 신실하신 하나님께서는 그분의 강한 팔로 우리를 끝까지 붙들고 계시며, 어떤 환난이나 곤고나 박해나 기근이나 적신이아 위험이나 칼이나 사망이나 생명이나 천사들이나 권세자들이나 현재 일이나 장래 일이나 능력이나 높음이나 깊음이나 다른 어떤 피조물이라도 우리를 우리 주 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑에서 끊을 수 없다 (롬 8:39)는 것을 기억하며 마침내 그리스도 예수의 날까지 (빌 1:6) 넉넉하게 이기게 하실 주님 (롬 8:37)을 의지하고 붙드는 우리 모두가 되기를 소망합니다.
- Throughout today’s text, we would like to learn few things: The first is the fact that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that we will receive and also the fact that Jesus already gave that glory to us (John 17:22), we become more and more glorious (2 Cor 3:18) while we gradually resemble the image of the Lord (Rom 8:29). By the way, the second is the fact that there can be various challenges and hardships when we follow Him to pursue the image of Him and receive the glory of Him. Endless self-denial of the old man (Greek σάρξ Sareux, flesh in English) who relies on his own power to achieve salvation and seek his glory, crucifixion of lust and the world, and pursuing the narrow path and turning away from the temptations of sin can sometimes be the path of loneliness, suffering, persecution, and tribulation. However, what we need to remember is God’s love (v.39). Sometimes when we are weary of sinful nature within us, or when we are struggling with the world, we have to remember that the faithful God always holds us to the end with his strong arm. Any tribulation, hardship, persecution, famine, or drowsiness, danger, sword, death, life, angels, powers, present work, future work, power, high or deep, or any other creature, cannot separate us from the love of God in Jesus so that I hope we may depend onto the Lord (Romans 8:37) who will give us a ultimate victory until the day of Jesus Christ (Phil 1:6).
- 기도하옵기는 이 땅을 사는 동안 우리로 넉넉히 이기게 하셔서, 마침내 주님의 성품을 덧입게 하실 하나님의 사랑과 은혜가 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회 위에 충만하시기를 기도합니다.
- I pray that the grace and love of God that we clothe with the character of the Lord, by letting us be more than conquerors may be with our KPCM children, families, and church.

Q1 When we follow Jesus, lots of temptation approach us to forget Him or fail to keep the faith. Together with our friends, we will think about what kinds of temptation can challenge us? 사랑하는 주님을 쫓아가다 보면 이렇게 저렇게 참 많은 유혹과 어려움이 찾아 옵니다. 우리 함께 곰곰히 우리가 쉽게 넘어갈 수 있는 유혹이 어떤 것이 있을 수 있는지 함께 생각해 보고 친구들과 나누어 보면 좋겠습니다.
(이 질문을 통하여, 우리 자녀들이 생각하는 혹은 쉽게 빠질 수 있는 유혹들이 어떤 것들이 있을 수 있는지 함께 고민해 보는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)

Q2 Among those temptation which we thought about in Q&A1, what kind of temptation will be most challenging to you? I wonder how you will overcome that challenge? 앞에서 함께 생각해 보고 찾아 본 유혹들과 어려움들 중에 자기가 보기에 참 도전이 될 것들이 어떤 것이 있는지 그리고 그런 유혹이 올 때 어떻게 이겨낼 수 있을지 한번 고민해 보고 생각을 나눌 수 있으면 좋겠습니다.
(이 질문을 통하여, 우리 자녀들이 생각하는 자기의 약점이 무엇인지 그리고 어떻게 그 유혹을 극복할 수 있을지 한번 생각해 보면서, 특별히 오늘 본문에서 말씀하시는 것처럼 하나님의 사랑 안에서 유혹을 이겨낼 힘을 얻고 예수님의 사랑이 우리를 넉넉히 이기게 한다는 사실을 다시 한번 더 확인하는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
(Through this question, I hope our children can think about their weaknesses and learn how to overcome them. Especially as today’s text says, we hope that they can know that the love of God can give them the strength to overcome their temptations and the love of the Lord makes us overcome those challenges. When expressing a variety of thoughts, opinions, feelings and experiences, sympathize with them, and sometimes ask the reason for their thoughts, and have active listening and empathetic conversations with children.)
