영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는, 지난 주에는 고전 15:20-28 말씀을 통하여, 예수님의 부활의 의미와 부활이 우리에게 주는 유익에 대해서 한번 배워보았습니다. 이번 주에는 누가 24:44-53을 통하여, 예수님의 승천의 의미에 대해서 배워보고 함께 은혜 받는 시간이 되기를 소망합니다.
Last week, week, through 1 Cor 15:20-28, we learned the meaning and benefits of His resurrection. And this week, through Luke 24:44-53, we would like to learn the meaning of His ascension to receive the grace from Him.
- 우리가 예수님을 믿는다고 고백하는 것은 예수님의 죽음과 부활을 믿는다는 것이며, 조금 더 복잡하게 설명하면, 예수님의 동정녀 탄생과 십자가 죽음과 부활, 그리고 승천과 천상의 다스림과 재림과 심판을 믿는다는 것으로 말할 수 있습니다. 따라서, 예수님의 부활에 이어 예수님의 승천 사건도 또한 우리가 이해하고 알아야 할 중요한 사건으로 오늘은 승천의 신학적 의미에 대해서 배워보기를 원합니다.
- When we confess that we believe in Jesus, in short we believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection, but putting it more completely, it means that we believe in Jesus’ incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, ascension, heavenly reign, His second coming, and judgment. Therefore, following the resurrection of Jesus, the ascension of Jesus is also an very important event that we need to understand and know, so that today we would like to learn more about the theological meaning of the doctrine of the ascension.
- 먼저 오늘 본문 바로 전 누가복음 24장 1-36절까지의 상황을 정리해 보면, 예수님께서 돌아가신 후 삼일째 되는 날, 예수님의 부활을 전해 듣거나 직접 부활하신 예수님을 만난 세 그룹의 사람들은 모두 처음에는 믿지 않았다고 말하고 있습니다. 즉, 여인들은 무덤이 비어 있는 것을 목격하고는 예수님의 부활을 믿기 보다 근심했다고 말하고 있고, 심지어 예수님의 제자들에게 달려가 예수님께서 다시 살아 나셨다고 알려 주었지만, 그들은 여자들이 헛소리를 한다고 생각 하였습니다. (24:1-11) 그리고 또 예수님께서 엠마오로 가는 두 제자에게 나타나셨는데도 두 제자가 알아보지 못했고, 결국 예수님께서 성경도 풀어 주시고 떡을 떼어 주시자 그때서야 예수님을 알아보게 되었으며, 예수님을 직접 만난 두 제자가 예루살렘으로 돌아와, 제자들에게 예수님을 만났다는 사실을 말해 주었지만 그들은 믿지를 않았습니다. (24:13-35) 그리고 심지어 마가의 다락방에 숨어 있는 제자들에게 예수님께서 직접 나타나셨음에도 그들은 처음에 영으로 생각하여 두려워 함으로, 예수님께서 손과 발을 보여 주셔도 아직 믿지 못하고 놀라워 했고, 예수님께서 그들 앞에서 생선을 잡수심으로 귀신이 아니라 몸으로 부활하셨다는 것을 알게 해 주셨다 (24:36-43)고 말씀하고 있습니다. 이런 상황에서 오늘의 본문은 44-49절에서 먼저 예수님께서는 제자들에게 모세의 율법과 선지자의 글과 시편에 기록된 모든 것들이 이루어져야 한다고 말씀하신 것이 바로 이것이라고 하시며, 다시 그들의 마음을 열어 성경을 깨닫게 해 주시고, 그의 고난과 죽음과 부활과 그의 이름으로 말미암는 구원의 복음을 온 세상에 전하라고 하시며, 그 사명을 위해 성령님의 능력을 덧입을 때까지 예루살렘에 머물 것을 명하신 후, 예수님께서 그들을 축복하시며, 천상에서의 하나님 나라 통치를 위해 승천하시자 (50-51) 제자들이 이에 기쁨으로 하나님을 경배한 사건이 기록되어 있습니다. (52-53)
- Looking at the context right before today’s text at Lk 24:1-36, all three groups of people who heard of Jesus’ resurrection showed initial unbelief, i.e., the women were said that they were worried than believing in Jesus’ resurrection when they witnessed the empty tomb. And when women ran to Jesus’ disciples to inform that Jesus had risen, the disciples did not believe them because their words seemed like nonsense (24:1-11) And also when Jesus appeared to two disciples who had been going to Emmaus, even they couldn’t recognize him. Eventually, when Jesus opened the Bible to explain them and did divine intervention to them by breaking the bread, then they recognized Jesus. And when two disciples returned to Jerusalem and told them they had met Jesus, still the disciples did not believe. (24:13-35) And also even when Jesus appeared directly to the disciples hiding in Mark’s upper room, they initially thought that it was a ghost and were afraid so that it is written that Jesus explained them that He was bodily resurrected (24:36-43). In this situation, vv.44-49 of today’s text says that Jesus told his disciples that all things recorded in the Mosaic Law, the Prophets, and the Psalms should be fulfilled, and again opened their minds to understand the Bible. And then He told them to preach the gospel of his suffering, death, and resurrection, and salvation through his name to the whole world. And in vv.50-51, after Jesus blessed them after ordering them to stay in Jerusalem until they had been clothed with the power of the Holy Spirit for that mission, He ascended to heaven for the reign of God’s kingdom in heaven. Then in vv.52-53, it is said that the disciples worshiped God with joy.
- 바빙크가 그의 책 개혁 교의학에서 이야기 한 것처럼, 예수님의 십자가 죽음이 비하 (humiliation) 의 정점에 있는 구속의 성취라면 그리스도의 부활로부터 시작된 예수님의 승귀 (exaltation) 는 구속의 적용과 분배라 말할 수 있기에 예수님의 부활이 중요하게 여겨지지만, 예수님의 승천도 신학적으로는 중요한 의미를 지니고 있습니다. 개혁주의 신학자 루이 벌코프는 그리스도의 승천은 중보자의 위격이 그 인성을 좇아 지상에서 하늘로 올라가신 단순한 장소 이동의 의미만 있는 것이 아니라, 그리스도의 인성의 좀더 진전된 변화를 포함하고 있다고 말하고 있습니다. 즉, 부활을 경험한 그리스도의 인성이 천국적 영광의 충만함으로 진입하였으며, 천상의 생활에 완전히 적응할 수 있게 되었음을 의미하는 것입니다. 그리고 그리스도의 승천은 신학적으로 다음과 같은 삼중적 의미를 지니고 있는데, a) 그리스도의 승천은 하나님께서는 그리스도께서 이루신 중보 사역을 인정 하심으로, 천국의 영광에 들어오도록 허락하셨다는 것을 의미하며, b) 그리스도의 승천은 모든 신자들의 승천을 예고하는 동시에 승천후 보좌에 앉으신 것과 연관하여, 인간 창조시 하나님께로 부터 받은 창조물들에 대한 지배권이 회복될 것이라는 것을 계시한 사건이며, 또한 c) 그리스도 안에 있는 사람들을 위해 처소를 예비하는 기구적 사건이었다고 볼 수 있습니다.
- Even though the resurrection is the starting of His exaltation when the application and distribution of His merits as the crucifixion is the summit of His humiliation for the achievement of the redemption as Herman Bavinck said in his book “Reformed Dogmatics,” the ascension also has very important theological meaning to us since as Louis Berkhof, a reformed theologian, says, it not only means a shift of place in which the person of Mediator ascended from earth to heaven, but also implies upgraded transformation of the humanity of Christ, i.e., the humanity of Christ, who experienced the resurrection, has entered the fullness of heavenly glory and could adapt fully to the heavenly life. The ascension has threefold meanings theologically: A) It means that God has permitted him to enter the glory of heaven, as He approves His mediating ministry is done. B) It predicts the ascension of the believers and reveals that the dominion over the creatures, received from God in the creation, will be restored together with sitting on the throne. C) It is an instrumental event to prepare a place for people.
- 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는 데, 첫번째는 예수님께서는 승천하시면서 조차 제자들을 축복하셨는데, 특별히 “승천”이 우리에게 주는 축복의 의미를 알기를 원합니다. 즉 부활이 우리의 영과 몸이 하나님의 형상으로 회복될 뿐 만 아니라, 의로움과 거룩성을 회복하게 하는 사역이라면, 승천은 우리가 천상의 삶 (Intermediate state) 과 마지막 새하늘 새땅에서의 삶에 적합한 영적이며 영광스런 존재로 승화된다는 것을 의미한다는 것입니다. 즉 예수님의 승천을 통해 우리가 입게 될 영광은 심지어 아담의 그것을 능가하여, 원상의 회복을 넘어 한단계 더 격상되는 것으로 우리에게 은혜로 주어진다는 것입니다. 그리고 둘째로 주님의 부활과 승천을 목격한 많은 제자들이 주님의 죽으심과 부활과 승천의 증인이 되었듯, 우리도 주님의 증인이 되는 영광을 누릴 수 있는데, 그것은 우리가 믿을 때에 성령께서 임하시고 또 교회에 넘치는 성령의 기름부으심을 통하여 우리가 성경을 읽을 때에 깨달게도 하시고 마음에 확신을 주셔서, 예수님의 십자가 죽음과 부활과 승천을 믿고 확신할 수 있도록 해 주시기 때문입니다. 따라서, 우리 크리스천들은 하나님을 예배하고 복음을 전파하는 일이 우리의 사명임을 깨닫고, 온 민족과 열방이 하나님을 예배하기까지 예수님의 이름으로 죄사함을 받는 회개를 모든 방언과 족속에게 전함으로 하나님께 영광 올려드리는 삶을 살 수 있게 되기를 소망합니다.
- We would like to learn few things through today’s text. Firstly, we would like to know the blessings of the ascension as Jesus blessed His disciples before ascending to heaven. While the resurrection gives benefits through which not only our spirit and body are restored to the image of God, but also He shares His righteousness and holiness to us, the benefits of His ascension transform us into spiritual and glorious one to live in the heaven in the intermediate state and also in the new heaven and new earth in the end, i.e., the glory that we will receive through the ascension of Jesus even surpasses that of Adam, being elevated one step further beyond the restoration of the original. And secondly, as His disciples who witnessed His crucifixion and resurrection and ascension became His witness, we can participate in this glorious mission to witness Him, since we received the Holy Spirit, when we believed and His anointing in church teaches us the Bible and makes us assure His crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. Therefore I hope we Christians may glorify Him by preaching gospel of forgiveness of sin by repentance until all tongues and tribes may worship God, since we are called to worship Him and share this good news to all the nations.
- 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회가, 이렇게 예수님의 승천이 주는 은혜를 깊이 깨닫고, 하나님 나라와 하나님의 영광을 이 땅에 선포하는 은혜를 누리시기를 소망합니다.
- I pray that our children, their families and church may enjoy the glory to proclaim the kingdom of God and His glory, after knowing the graceful meaning of His ascension.

Q2 Then if we read the verse 45 of today’s text, it says that “Jesus open their minds so they could understand the Scripture”, what does this mean? Then when we read the Bible, how do we have to read the Bible?
