영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는, 요한복음 14:15-31 을 통해서, 예수님께서 십자가에서 고난 받으시기 전에 제자들에게 “서로 사랑하라”는 새 계명을 주시고, 예수님께서 떠나가실 것이라고 말씀하시자 불안해 하는 제자들에게 또 다른 보혜사, 즉 성령님을 보내주실 것을 약속하시고 오히려 기뻐하고 평안하라고 말씀하셨는데, 우리 안에 거하시는 성령님께서 서로 사랑할 수 있는 힘과 또 기쁨과 평화를 누릴 수 있도록 도와 주시는 것을 배웠습니다. 이번주에는 에베소서 2:11-22 절 말씀을 통해서, 그리스도 안에서 성취된 우주적 화해가 단절된 인간들을 예수 그리스도 안에 지어진 새사람을 통해서 어떻게 하나가 되게 하는지 알아보고 은혜 나눌 수 있기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through John 14:15-28, we learned that we may live to love one another and rejoice and have peace even in the tribulation, since Jesus before His coming to God promised to send the Holy Spirit, while giving His new commandment “love one another.” This week, through Eph 2:11-22, we would like to receive His grace while learning how we human beings may be united in His peace through new humanity created in Him, in the universal peace achieved in Christ.
- 에베소서는 그리스도 안에서 성취된 우주적 화해(1:9-10, 20-23; 2:10-22; 3:6)를 중심 주제로 하고 있습니다. 하나님은 온 우주를 창조하셨고 우주는 하나님 안에서 통일되어 조화를 이루고 있었습니다. 그런데 첫 사람인 아담과 이브가 하나님께 반역함으로 인간은 하나님과 단절되었고 또한 인간들 끼리도 서로 반목하게 되었습니다. 그래서 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들을 부르셔서 하나님의 법을 주시고 성전에서 하나님께 제사를 드리며 하나님께 순종하도록 하심으로 하나님께서 온 우주의 통치자이심을 이방인들 즉 세상에 나타내고자 하셨습니다. 그러나 이스라엘 백성의 지속적인 불순종 으로 말미암아, 하나님께서는 메시아 즉 그의 독생하시는 아들 예수 그리스도를 보내셔서, 모든 인간들의 죄를 용서하시고 또한 의롭다 하심으로 하나님과 화해를 이루어 하나님의 자녀로 삼아 주시고, 하나님의 통치가 이루어지는 하나님의 나라 백성이 되게 하셨으며, 예수 그리스도의 천상 통치를 통하여 마침내 모든 권세와 악의 세력을 멸하시고 그리스도안에서 하나님 나라, 즉 우주적 화해를 완성하실 것입니다. 이렇게 시작된 하나님 나라에서는 그리스도 안에 새사람을 지으셔서 하나님과 화해를 이루실 뿐 만 아니라 인간들 사이의 단절도 해결되어, 유대인과 이방인, 그리고 모든 족속들이 하나가 되어 화평을 이루게 되는데, 보편교회는 이렇게 예수로 충만한 곳으로 (1:23) 그리스도와의 연합을 통하여 하나된 것을 지키며 (4:1-6) 하나님의 성전이 되어 (2:19-21), 온 세상에 하나님의 뜻을 보여주고 선포하여야 한다고 말하고 있습니다. (3:9-10)
- One of the central theme of the Epistle to the Ephesians is the universal reconciliation in Christ (1:9-10, 20-23; 2:10-22; 3:6). When God created the whole universe, it was united and harmonized in God. But, since the first human beings, Adam and Eve, rebelled against God, they were separated from God and also became antagonistic between them. So God called the Israelites and gave God’s law which explains how to sacrifice to God in the temple, and asked for their obedience to God so that they could show to the world, the Gentiles, that God is the ruler of the whole universe. However, since even the Israelites continued not to obey, God sent the Messiah, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to forgive their sins, to make reconciliation with Him and to make them His children. After Jesus inaugurated the kingdom of God, He will consummate it by destroying all the powers and evil forces, through His heavenly reign until His second coming, that is, universal reconciliation in Christ. In this kingdom of God, we were not only reconciled with God, but also in new humanity created in Jesus we have peace with others, between the Jews and the Gentiles, and also between all tribes. Universal church where His fullness is filled (1:23), must keep oneness in the union with Christ (4:1-6), while becoming God’s temple (2:19-21), and proclaiming God’s will to the whole world. (3:9-10)
- 앞절 1-10절에서 하나님의 크신 사랑으로 인하여 허물과 죄로 죽었던 우리를 살리시고 의롭다 하셨는데, 오늘 본문 2:11-22은 우리들은 그리스도 안에서 한 새사람으로 지음 받아, 하나님과 더불어 화평을 이룬 것 같이, 우리들, 특히 이스라엘백성들과 이방인들도 이제 화평을 이루어, 거룩한 하나님의 백성이 되어, 모퉁이 돌 되신 주님을 중심으로 서로 연결되어 주안에서 자라나서, 주님의 거룩한 성전이 되어 하나님이 거하시는 처소가 됨으로, 하나님의 비밀의 경륜, 즉 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 풍성한 은혜를 세상 가운데 드러냄으로 하나님께 영광을 돌려야 한다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 본문은 구조적으로 보면, 11-12절 “그때” 즉 구원받기 전 약속의 언약에 대한 이방인으로 살다가, 13-18절 예수 그리스도의 피로 말미암아 가까워져, 주안에서 한 새사람으로 지어져 하나님과 화목하고 또한 서로 화평하게 되어, 19-22 “이제” 하나님의 거룩한 백성이 되어 하나님의 성전으로 함께 지어져 감을 말씀하고 있는데, 특히 “그때”와 “이제”가 대조되어, “그때”는 이방인 즉, 외인으로 약속의 언약에서 소외(12, 19)되고, 제외(13)되어 원수(16)로 행하다가, “이제”는 하나님과 화목(16)하게 되고, 또 서로 하나 (15-16)되어 평안(17)을 누리게 되었다고 말씀하고 있습니다.
- In the previous verses 2:1-10, it was written that in God’s great love, we were raised from the dead in transgressions and sins, and were justified. Today’s text 2:11-22 says that we were regenerated into new humanity man in Christ, having peace with God and also with other Christians; we, the gentiles have peace with Jews and became the holy people of God and are reconciled with each other, becoming holy people of God and being connected on the cornerstone, our Lord, and grow in the Lord, become the holy temple as His dwelling place so that we may glorify God by revealing His abundant grace in His mysterious economy. Today’s text is structured in three parts; in vv.11-12, “at that time,” i.e., before being saved, we lived as stranger to the promised covenant, in vv.13-18, being brought closer by the blood of Jesus Christ, we became new humanity in the Lord, being reconciled to God and making peace with others, and in vv.19-22, “Now” we became God’s holy people, being built together as God’s temple. Especially, as “at that time” and “now” are contrasted, it is said that “at that time” we were alienated (12,19) from the promise of the covenant as the Gentile, i.e., foreigners, excluded (13), and acted like enemy (16), but “now” we became reconciled to God (16), and with others, being one (15-16), and have peace (17).
- 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는 데, 첫번째 우리는 물과 성령으로 거듭날 때, 옛사람은 죽고 새사람 (New Humanity)이 되었다는 사실을 기억하기를 원합니다. 첫인간인 아담과 이브가 하나님께 배반하여 금하신 선악과를 따먹고, 교만하여져서, 자기 생각에 옳은 길을 가게 되어 하나님과도 다른 인간과도 또 자연과도 단절되었지만, 예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서, 철저하게 하나님께 순종하시되 십자가에서 죽으시기까지 순종하시고, 또한 성령의 충만하심으로 인도함 받고 행하셨던 바, 이제 우리가 주님 안에서 새롭게 지어진 새사람을 입게 되었고, 이 새사람으로 말미암아 우리가 하나님과 화목하게 되었을 뿐 만 아니라, 다른 사람들과도 화평을 이루게 되었다는 것을 기억하고 늘 새 사람으로 행하는 우리 모두가 되기를 소망합니다. 그리고 둘째로는 그렇게 새사람으로 거듭나 하늘 나라의 백성들이 된 우리는 주님의 교회에 소속하게 되어, 하나님의 통치가 이루어지는 하나님의 나라, 즉 거룩한 하나님의 성전, 교회가 되었고, 칼빈이 말한 바, 모든 경건한 자의 어머니라고 칭한 교회 안에서 우리가 서로 함께 자라나고 있다는 사실을 기억하기를 원합니다. 그리고 마지막으로 우리가 살고 있는 이 분열의 시대, 즉, 인종간의 질시와 분열, 빈부간의 반목, 나라와 민족간의 불화 등이 가득한 이 말세지말에, 우리 교회가 평화의 사도로 부르심을 받았다는 사실을 기억하기를 소망합니다. 고후 5:18 말씀처럼 “모든 것이 하나님께로서 났으며 그가 그리스도로 말미암아 우리를 자기와 화목하게 하시고 또 우리에게 화목하게 하는 직분을 주셨”기에, 하나님과의 화목과 인간들간의 화평을 경험한 우리 교회가 이 말세지말에 화해의 복음을 세상에 전함으로 하나님의 평강을 세상에 전하고 하나님께 영광을 올려 드리는 우리 모두가 되기를 소망합니다.
- Through today’s Bible verses, we would like to receive some grace. First, I hope we may know that when we were born-again with water and the Holy Spirit, the old man died and we were regenerated into new humanity in Jesus Christ. Since the first human beings, Adam and Eve, betrayed God and ate the forbidden fruit of good and evil, becoming arrogant, we did what was right in our own eyes so that we were separated from God, from other human beings and also from nature. So since Jesus came to earth and redeemed us, by obeying to God, until death in the cross, and being filled with the Holy Spirit, we were born again into new humanity in which we were reconciled not only to God, but also to others. So I hope we may live in this new humanity. And secondly, we who became new humanity in Christ and holy people of the kingdom of God, belonged to the church of the Lord, and also became His church, the kingdom of God in which God dwells and reigns so that we have to be grown up together with others in this temple of God. In this perspective, Calvin called the church the mother of all godly people. And finally, in this age of division, where we have been experiencing; separation between races, antagonism between the rich and the poor, and the discord between nations, I hope we remember that His church is called for the ministry of reconciliation. As 2 Corinthians 5:18 said, “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,” since we experienced already the reconciliation with God and the peace with others, I hope we may preach the gospel of the peace to the world to the glory of God.
- 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회에, 부활절기 다섯번째 주일을 맞아 하나님과의 화목과 성도들간의 화평을 누리고 또 그 평화를 세상에 전함으로 하나님께 영광을 올려 드릴 수 있기를 기도합니다.
- I pray that His beloved KPCM children, families and church may enjoy the reconciliation of God and the peace with His saints and also proclaim His peace to the world to the glory of God in the fifth week of the Easter season.

Q1 I am sure you have lots of friends at your school and community where you live. You may have Caucasian American friends, African American ones and Asian American ones and also the rich and the poor, the healthy and those who suffered with mental illness or physical health. By the way, I wonder how you feel when you saw they fight each other, saying they are better than others or because they are different? Would you share your thoughts or idea with your friends? 여러분들이 있는 학교에나 커뮤니티에 많은 친구들이 있을 줄 믿어요. 백인 친구도 있고 흑인 친구도 있고 또 아시아인 친구도 있구요. 또 부자도 있고 가난한 사람도 있고 건강한 친구도 있는데 또 몸과 마음이 아픈 친구들도 있을 줄 믿어요. 그런데, 그렇게 서로 다르다고 서로 싸우고 서로를 더 잘났다고 하면 여러분 마음이 어떻던가요? 여러분들의 마음과 생각을 친구들에게 나누어 주시면 좋겠어요.
(이 질문을 통하여, 우리 아이들이 이미 인종차별을 경험하고 있지는 않은지 알아보고 만약 그렇다면 아이들이 그것에 대해 어떻게 느끼고 생각하는지 알아볼 수 있는 기회가 되기를 원합니다. 아직 어려서 이런 것들을 모르고 경험하지 못할 것도 같지만 의외로 우리 아이들이 어릴때부터 이런 사회악과 부조리에 이미 노출되고 나름대로 갈등하고 고민할 수도 있을 수 있다는 것을 알고 건강하고 바르게 잘 대처하고 인도함 받을 수 있는 기회가 되기를 소망합니다. 다양한 생각과 의견과 감정과 경험을 표현할 때 공감해 주시면서, 때때로 생각의 이유도 물어 보시면서 아이들과 적극적 경청과 공감의 대화를 나누실 수 있으시기를 소망합니다.)
(Through this question, I hope we may know whether our children may experience already the racism in their lives and how they think and feel. Since they are still young, it is easy to think that they did not experience it, but in most cases they already have been exposed to it and experienced this social injustice and social evil so that I hope we may teach them to react in healthy and correct way. When your children express diverse thoughts, opinions, emotions, or experiences, I hope you may empathize with them to enjoy the conversation of empathy through active listening, sometimes asking their thoughts behind.)
Q2 According to today’s Bible verses, it is said that we were reconciled with God and have peace with others through being transformed into new humanity in Christ. I wonder how it looks like in our daily life at church or in the community, the life of ministry of reconciliation? Could you share your thoughts with your friends? 오늘 말씀에 보니까, 예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서 주님 안에서 한 새사람을 지으시고 우리가 거듭날 때 우리도 새사람으로 변화되어 하나님과도 화목하게 되고 또 다른 사람들과도 화평하게 되었다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 우리가 교회 안에서 또 교회 밖에서도 우리는 사람들을 하나님과 화목하게 하고 또 사람들 사이에도 화목하게 하는 직분을 받았다고 하는데, 우리가 일상의 삶에서 어떻게 그렇게 살 수 있을지 서로의 생각을 나누어 주셨으면 좋겠어요.
