영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는, 로마서 6장 1-13절 말씀을 통하여, 세례를 통하여 주님과 연합하여 옛사람이 죽고 새사람으로 살게 된 바, 우리의 지체를 의의 병기로 드리며 사는 삶에 대해서 알아 보았습니다. 이번 주에는, 요한복음 6장 52-29절 말씀을 통하여, 성찬에 대해서 알아 보고 함께 은혜 나누기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Rom 6:1-13, we learned about the life as instruments of His righteousness, after knowing the meaning of baptism. This week, through John 6:52-59, we would like to learn the meaning of Holy Supper.
- 크리스천이 된다는 것은 “주님과 연합”하는 것을 의미하는데, 성령님께서 주님께서 이루어 놓으신 은택들을 택자에게 하나 하나 적용해 주심으로, 주님에 대한 지식과 사랑이 깊어지고 점점 더 친밀한 교제를 해 나가 마침내 주님의 성품까지 온전히 덧입게 되는 것으로 이해할 수 있습니다. 그런데 실제로 말씀과 기도라는 가장 중요한 은혜의 수단을 통해서도 실은 말씀은 지식의 증가만을 기도는 인간적인 정욕의 실현 수단으로 잘못 이해되어, 하나님과 성경에 대한 지식은 증가하고 기도 응답(?)의 간증은 많아짐에도 불구하고 실제 주님과의 인격적인 만남이 깊어지는 “그리스도와의 연합”이라는 관점에서 보면 전혀 성장하지 않은 경우를 종종 보게 됩니다. 이번 성례에 대한 공부를 통하여, 우리의 믿음의 성장 혹은 신앙이 깊어지는 것이 실은 얼마나 그리스도와의 연합과 밀접하게 연관되어 있는지 이해하고 우리의 신앙 생활을 점검하고 하나님 앞에 바르게 세워지는 과정이 되기를 소망합니다.
- Becoming Christian is the union with Christ, i.e., we may become more and more like Him, through having more intimate relationship with Christ by knowing and loving Him more, while the Holy Spirit applies all the merits to the elect which were earned by Him for them. But, even though there’s the means of grace such as the Word of God and prayer, I saw that in many cases Christians just grow only in the knowledge of God through the Word and have many experiences that his/her prayers were heard by God, yet through which they did not grow into the personal relationship with Christ, i.e., the union with Christ. Therefore, through this study of sacraments, I hope we may understand that all our growth in faith and spiritual growth are closely related to the union with Christ so that we may walk in the right path toward the growth in Him by testing our life of faith.
- 성찬은 그리스도와의 연합을 회화적으로 가장 잘 표현한 은혜의 수단이 아닌가 싶습니다. 무슨 말인가 하면, 우리가 주님의 살을 먹고 주님의 피를 마신다는 의미가 시각적으로 가장 잘 표현되어 있는 것이 바로 성찬이기 때문입니다. 성찬은 주님께서 제정하신 것으로, 성찬에 참석한 신자가 선포된 말씀을 믿음으로 받을 때 성령님께서 역사하셔서, 주님의 몸과 피를 상징하는 빵과 포도주를 통하여 그리스도와 연합하게 하시는 은혜를 받게 됩니다. 이 성례는 Eucharist (감사), Holy Supper (성찬), Communion (친교) 로 불리는데, Eucharist (감사)는 하나님께서 창조와 구속과 성화에 이르기 까지 이루어 놓으신 모든 것들과 하나님의 나라를 통해 택자에게 주시는 모든 것들을 감사하는 감사의 예식을 의미하며, Holy Supper 는 주님께서 베푸시는 영의 양식으로 교회의 생명력이 자라나는 성례를 표현하며, Communion (교제)는 화해와 친교 그리고 삼위 하나님과의 천상/지상의 성도들과 함께 하는 교제의 잔치를 의미하며 주 안에서 하나됨을 나타내고 또 지켜나가는 성례적 표현입니다.
- Holy Supper is one of the most figurative mean of grace which expresses well the unseen grace of the union of Christ, i.e., being more united with Christ is well drawn in the eating the body of Christ, i.e., bread and drinking the blood of Christ, i.e., wine in Holy Supper. Holy Supper is instituted by Jesus and when we join with faith in God’s words which are proclaimed during the rite, the Holy Spirit works in us to unite with Christ through the bread and wine of the rite, which mean the body and blood of Christ. This holy sacrament is called as Eucharist, Holy Supper, or Communion; Eucharist means thanksgiving for all that God achieves for us in His creation, redemption and sanctification and also in the kingdom of God; Holy Supper means the spiritual food which was provided by our Lord to His church to nourish and activate them; Communion means the heavenly feast of fellowship, reconciliation and unity with Triune God and all His saints in heaven and earth.
- 특히 오늘 본문 요한 복음 6장 52-59절 말씀에서 예수님은 자신이 참양식이요 참음료라고 말씀하시면서, 성육신 하셔서 이루어 놓으신 중생, 칭의, 성화와 부활의 모든 은택들을 이루신 분으로 지속적으로 그의 몸과 피, 즉 영적 양식을 그의 몸된 교회에 공급하심으로 그의 백성들을 양육해 가시며, 주님께서 그의 백성 안에 거하시듯, 그의 백성들도 주님 안에 거하는 영원한 교제를 통하여 그리스도와 더 깊이 연합함으로 영원한 생명을 누릴 수 있다고 말씀하시는데, 이러한 큰 비밀은 택자 즉 성령으로 거듭난 자 만이 깨달을 수 있음을 알 수 있습니다. 특히 본문 6장55절 말씀 “내 살은 참된 양식이요 내 피는 참된 음료로다”는 말씀처럼, 우리가 참 생명되신 예수님을 매일 매일 교제함으로 그리스도와의 더 깊은 연합으로 성장해 갈 수 있기를 소망합니다.
- Especially in today’s text, John 6:52-59, Jesus says that He is “true food” and “true drink” (v.55) and teaches us that He already achieved all the merits for our regeneration, justification, sanctification and resurrection after being incarnated so that we may enjoy the eternal life by being united with Him more closely through the more intimate relationship with Christ by abiding in Him as He abides in His people, through being nourished with true bread and drink, i.e., His body and blood. We know that this secret cannot be known to others except the elect who were born again by the Holy Spirit. Especially as written in v.55 “my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink”, I pray that we may grow more and more into the union with Christ through our intimate daily fellowship with Him.
- 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는 데, 첫번째 구원의 시작부터 영원한 삶에 이르기까지 우리가 주님을 먹고 마시지 않고는 우리가 존재할 수 없다는 사실, 즉 하나님께서 태초에 인간을 창조하실 때, 결국 인간은 하나님을 힘입어 살며 기동하며 존재 (행 17:28) 할 수 있는 존재로 창조되었음을 알고, 우리 생명력의 원천이자 모든 필요하고 충분한 복의 근원되시는 하나님 앞에 앞에 철저하게 낮아지는 겸손과 하나님의 인도하심에 온전한 순종을 올려드리는 우리 모두가 되어야 할 줄 믿습니다. 둘째로 그런데 오늘 본문에서 보시듯, 인간은 이러한 영적 원리를 스스로는 알 수가 없으며, 심지어 복음으로 선포된다고 할 지라도 성령님의 도움이 없으면 깨달을 수가 없습니다. 오늘 본문 이전에 오병이어로 오천명을 먹이신 기적을 베푸시자 많은 사람들이 주님을 따랐지만, 실은 복음을 선포하시자 결국 많은 사람들이 떠나고 수다한 제자들도 떠난 것을 보면, 우리의 전적 부패와 무능을 알 수 있는 것입니다. 그래서 성령님께서 택자에게 오셔서 우리를 복음으로 중생시키시지 않으시면 특별 은총을 받을 수 없는 것입니다. 그런데 마지막으로 우리가 생각해 보기를 원하는 것은 계 3:20 “볼지어다 내가 문 밖에 서서 두드리노니 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가 그와 더불어 먹고 그는 나와 더불어 먹으리라”는 주님의 초대의 음성은 교회 밖 세상에서가 아니라 라오디게아 교회에 선포되었다는 사실에 유의해 볼 필요가 있습니다. 물론 유형 교회로서의 교회는 교회 안에도 복음이 선포되어야 하지만 구원을 받은 우리도 실은 주님을 우리 마음의 주인으로 모셔들이기 보다 자기 힘으로 성화를 이루어 가려는 경우를 종종 보기 때문입니다. 비록 성화에 택자를 참여시키시지만, 중생과 칭의와 성화가 모두 하나님의 사역이며, 이 세상 우주 만물의 생명을 붙드시고 섭리하셔서 모든 필요를 공급하시는 것이 하나님께서 이 세상을 운행하시는 원리요 방법이기에, 우리는 주님의 음성을 듣고 만물의 주인되시며 우리 존재의 원천되시는 주님을 우리 삶의 주인이요 우리 마음의 주인으로 모셔드리고, 주님과 더불어 먹고 마시고 누리는 우리 모두가 될 뿐 만 아니라 그렇게 하나님을 기뻐하고 영광올려 드일 수 있기를 소망합니다. 그것이 창조된 질서이자 인간이 지복을 누릴 수 있는 길인 바, 우리 모두가 그러한 은혜를 누릴 수 있기를 소망합니다.
- Through today’s Bible verses, we would like to receive some grace. First, we would like to know that we could not exist unless we may eat and drink from Him, from the beginning of the salvation to the eternal life, i.e., when God created human beings in the beginning, He intended that humankinds live and move and have our being in God, so that we have to be humble before God who is the fountain of all our needs and blessings to submit ourselves to His leading. Secondly, as you can see in the verse 52, human beings cannot know this secret of spiritual principle and recognize it even when the Gospel is proclaimed to them unless they were born again by the Holy Spirit. We may understand our total depravity and total inability through the parable of five fishes and two loaves of bread in which lots of people and disciples followed Jesus when He fed five thousand people through the miracle, yet all left except twelve, when He proclaimed the truth of Gospel. In other words, we can know that nobody can receive special grace of salvation unless the Holy Spirit dwells in the elect to regenerate them. And the third which we would like to meditate is that the voice of invitation of our Lord in Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and eat with him, and he with me” was proclaimed to the church in Laodicea. Even though we understand that the gospel should be proclaimed to the unbelievers even inside the visible church, this invitation is also for the believers, since I frequently see that even the born-again Christians try to live by themselves for the sanctification rather than inviting Him into the center of His heart and being led by Him. Even though He invites us in His work of sanctification, we have to know that all the work of regeneration, justification and sanctification are the work of God and that God holds all things in the universe with His providential care and fatherly provision is the principle and method to uphold all His creation so that we have to invite Him into the center of our heart as our Lord of our life, after hearing His voice of invitation and may eat and drink to enjoy Him and rejoin in Him to His glory. This is the order He created and intended and only the way we may enjoy His blessings so that we all may be blessed.
- 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회에, 성령강림후 두번째 주일을 맞아 성례의 은혜를 통하여 그리스도와의 연합의 더 깊은 은혜를 누릴 수 있게 되시기를 기도합니다.
- I pray that His beloved KPCM children, families and church may enjoy the union with Christ in His grace through the grace in His holy sacraments, specially Holy supper, in the second week after the Pentecost.

Q1 Sisters and brothers, do you have your friends or families who live far away from you? How do you not forget or cultivate love of them? We may read the letters which they left to us, or we may see frequently the precious things which they left to us, or we may remind beautiful experiences with them, don’t we? If you have those friends or families, would you share who they are and what you do when you think of them with your friends? 여러분! 혹시 사랑하던 친구나 가족이 멀리 떠나 있을 때, 어떻게 하면 그 친구와 가족들을 잊지 않고 그 사랑을 유지하고 더 키워갈 수가 있을까요? 어떤 사람들은 친구가 남겨두고 간 편지를 읽거나 또 그들과 함께 나눈 소중한 것들을 자주 들여다 보기도 하고, 또 그들과 함께 한 아름다운 기억들을 떠올려 보기도 하면서, 지낼 것 같아요 그쵸! 여러분들은 그런 친구와 가족들이 생각날 때 어떻게 하는지 여러분들의 생각과 하는 일들을 친구들에게 나누어 주시면 좋겠어요.

Q2 We learned last and this week, Jesus instituted two sacraments to His disciples and disciples of them too, before ascending to the heaven after finishing all His mission being incarnated, do you remember what are those and what they mean and how you were moved? Could you share what you remember and what moved or challenged you with your friends? 예수님께서 성육신하신 사역들을 다 끝내시고 하늘로 올라 가셨을 때, 이 세상에 남아 있는 그의 제자들과 또 그 제자들의 제자들에게 성례를 베풀어 주셨는데, 지난 시간과 이번 시간을 통해서 두가지가 있다고 배웠는데, 각각 무엇인지 그리고 어떤 의미가 있는지 생각나시고 은혜 받으신 것이 있으면, 친구들과 나누어 주시면 좋겠어요
