영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는, 에베소서 6장 1-4절 말씀을 통하여, “네 부모를 공경하라”라는 제5계명에 대해서 함께 배움으로, 하나님의 권세를 나누어 주신 부모님과 권세들을 공경하기를 하나님께서는 기뻐하시며, 우리가 그들에게 경외와 순종과 감사를 드릴 때에 하나님께서는 장수와 축복을 우리에게 허락하신다고 배웠습니다. 이번주에는 마 5:21-16 말씀을 통하여 제6계명 “살인하지말라” 에 대하여 배울 수 있기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Eph 6:1-4 the fifth commandment “Honor your parents”, we learned that God pleases to maintain His creation order to command us “Honor our parents” to whom God shared His authority and by rendering reverence, obedience and gratefulness to them, we will be blessed with long life and well-being by God. This week, through Mt 6:21-16, we would like to learn the sixth commandment “You shall not murder”.
- 제6계명은 “살인하지 말라”는 간단한 계명이고, 어떤 면에서보면 일반적인 삶에서는 누구나 이 계명을 범하지 않는 그런 계명처럼 보입니다. 그러나, 첫시간에 십계명에 대해 바르게 이해하기 위해서는 각 계명의 목적과 함께 금지 명령은 긍정명령으로 긍정명령은 금지명령으로 바꾸어 봄으로써 각 계명에 있는 풍성한 은혜를 알게 될 수 있을 것이라고 말씀드렸는데, 오늘 제6계명도 그런 과정을 통해서 이 계명 속에 녹아 있는 하나님의 뜻과 또 우리가 이 계명을 통해서 어떻게 살기를 원하셨는지 이해할 수 있기를 소망합니다.
- The sixth commandment simply says “You shall not murder” and it seems that we, typical people in our daily lives, never commit this commandment. But, as I said that in order to understand each commandment of the decalogue, we have to understand the purpose of each commandment why it was given to us and also to try to change the prohibition to the positive commandment or the positive commandment into the prohibition. So today, through these process, we would like to understand the deep meaning of the sixth commandment for how God willed us to live through this commandment.
- 먼저 하나님께서는 왜 살인을 금했다고 생각하십니까? 창세기 4장으로 거슬러 올라가 보면 아담과 하와가 금과인 선악을 알게 하는 나무의 열매를 따먹는 첫 죄를 짓고 타락한 이후, 인류 역사상 첫번째 죄는 가인이 아벨을 죽이는 것으로 나타났고 그 이후 가인의 자손인 라멕에 이르러서는 감정만 상하고 해만 입어도 살인을 하는 그러한 상태에 이르게 되었으며, 마침내 6장에 이르러서는 사람의 죄악이 세상에 가득함과 그들의 마음으로 생각하는 모든 계획이 악할 뿐 임을 보시고 땅 위에 사람 지으셨음을 한탄하사 마음에 근심하시고 하나님께서 창조한 모든 사람과 가축과 기는 것과 공중의 새까지도 모든 것들을 지면에서 쓸어버리기로 하셨고 세상에 큰 홍수를 보내셔서 모든 살아있는 것을 멸하셨습니다. 그리고 이제 노아 가족들을 통하여 새롭게 시작하는 9장에 이르러서, 하나님께서는 생육하고 번성하여 땅에 충만하라고 다시 축복을 해 주시는데, 창1장과는 다르게 이제 모든 산 동물들을 인간들의 먹을 것으로 허락해 주시면서, 두가지를 당부하시는데, 그 고기를 그 생명되는 피째 먹지 말라고 하시고, 다른 사람들의 생명의 피를 흘리지 말라고 하셨는데, 그 이유를 그 피는 생명이며, 인간은 하나님의 형상으로 지으셨기 때문이라고 말씀해 주셨습니다. 그렇습니다. 모든 인간은 하나님의 형상을 지니고 있기에, 그들의 생명을 해하지 말아야 한다고 말씀해 주셨던 것입니다. 그리고, 예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서 “살인”의 의미를 오늘 본문 6장에서 가르쳐 주셨는데, 예수님께서는 심지어 형제에게 “라가 (미련한 자)”라고 욕하는 것조차 살인죄라고 하시면서, 인격을 해하는 일이나 말마저도 살인죄임을 말씀해 주신 바, 이 명령을 긍정 명령으로 바꾸면, 우리 인간은 하나님의 형상을 지닌 자이기 때문에 서로의 인격을 존중하여야 함을 알 수 있습니다. 그래서, 하이델베르그 요리문답 105 문항에서는 우리가 생각이나, 말이나, 표정이나 몸짓이나 특별히 실제 행동으로 우리의 이웃을 업신여기거나, 미워하거나, 모욕을 주거나, 죽이지 말아야 하며, 이런 일을 하는 다른 사람들에게도 가담하지 말며, 심지어 모든 복수의 욕망마저도 제하여야 한다고 말씀하고 있는 것입니다.
- First of all, why do you think God prohibited to murder? According to Gen 4, we can know that after the sin to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the first sin which Cain committed was to kill Abel His brother and the offspring of Cain, Lamech killed people even who wounded or striking him. So, in Gen 6, God decided to swipe all the living things from the earth out, since the wickedness of human beings was great and even every intention of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually. And then in Gen 9, when He started over again, while God blessed them “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth,” He commanded two things; the first is not to eat flesh with its life, i.e., its blood, after giving every moving things for their food and the second not to shed the blood of human beings, since He made them in His image. Yes. The reason why we should not murder is because all the human beings are created as God’s image-bearer. And then when Jesus came to this side of the world, He taught us whoever is angry or insults or says “You fool!” to their brothers and sisters, will be liable to judgement. So we can know that we have to respect our brother and sisters since they are image-bearers of God. Heidelberg catechism Q&A 105 says that we should not belittle, hate, insult, or kill our neighbor – not by thoughts, words, look or gesture and certainly not by actual deeds and not to be party to this in others, and even not to have all desire to revenge.
- 칼빈은 이 6계명의 목적은 “인류를 일정한 통일성으로 함께 묶어 주셨으므로 각 사람마다 모든 사람의 안전에 유념해야” 하는 것에 있는 바, 이 계명에는 “이웃의 몸을 해치는 모든 폭력과 상해와 해로운 일들 모두가 우리에게 금지되어 있다”고 요약해 준 후, “우리 이웃의 생명을 구하는데 소용되는 것이 발견되면, 그것을 신실하게 사용하며, 이웃의 평화를 위하여 도움이 되는 것이 있으면 그것을 행하며, 해로운 것이 있으면, 그것을 제거하며, 이웃이 위험에 처해 있을 때에는 기꺼이 도움의 손길을 펼치라는 명령이 포함”되어 있다고 하였습니다.
- Calvin said that “The purpose of this commandment is: the Lord has bound mankind together by a certain unity; hence each man ought to concern himself with the safety of all” and “to sum up, then, all violence, injury, and any harmful thing at all that may injure our neighbor’s body are forbidden to us.” So he said that “We are accordingly commanded, if we find anything of use to us in saving our neighbors’ lives, faithfully to employ it; if there is anything that makes for their peace, to see to it; if anything harmful, to ward it off; if they are in any danger, to lend a helping hand.”[1]
- 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는 데, 첫번째 오늘 제6계명은 단순히 소극적으로 “살인”에 대한 금지 명령이 아니라, 모든 인간은 하나님의 형상을 지닌 자로서 우리가 존중하고, 심지어 생각이나 말이나 행동에서 조차 그러한 인간 존엄성에 대하여 존중하고 심지어 다른 사람들이 그렇게 행동하는 것조차 함께 하지 않으며 우리 마음의 복수심마저도 금하는 인간 세상을 위한 가장 기초적 명령으로 모든 인간이 순종하여 할 계명임을 알 수 있으며, 두번째로는, 또 이 계명은 한발짝 더 나아가 인간 존엄성을 인정하는 상호 존중하는 사회를 만들기 위한 모든 가능한 것들을 추구하면서, 그에 반하는 모든 것들을 제거하고 어려움에 처한 이웃에게 손을 내밀도록 요구하는 적극적 명령임을 알수 있는 바, 우리 모두가 우리의 삶과 태도와 행동을 다시 한번 점검해 보고, 하나님의 기쁘신 뜻대로 살아갈 수 있도록 해야 할 줄로 믿습니다.
- Through today’s Bible verses, we would like to learn few things together. First of all we learned that this sixth commandment is not a passive commandment which just prohibit to murder, rather we have not only to respect other people even in our thoughts and words and deeds with honoring their dignity as human beings, but also, we should not join in any kinds of group who do this sin and not have desire even to revenge, as the fundamental requirement for our human society since we are all God’s image bearers. And also, secondly, this commandment in advance, we have to do all our possible effort for pursuing human society where all human beings are respected their dignity as human and also we have to make an effort to remove all the obstacles against it and to help our neighbors who are in needs, we have to live in His pleasing will after reviewing our life, attitude and deeds this time.
- 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 KPCM 자녀들과 가족들과 교회에, 성령강림후 열한번째 주일을 맞아, 제6계명을 통하여 모든 인간들이 인간 존엄성을 인정받고 하나님의 형상을 지난 자로 살아갈 수 있도록 우리의 생각과 말과 행동을 주님의 뜻과 길에 복종케 함으로 상호 존중과 사랑과 정의가 가득한 새하늘 새땅을 향한 하나님의 비전을 이루는 일에 함께 하는 귀한 은혜가 있기를 소망합니다.
- I pray that His beloved KPCM children, families and church may participate His mission to build new heaven and new earth which will be filled with respect of human dignity and love and justice, by obeying our thoughts, words and deeds and living as God’s image bearers through this sixth commandment in the eleventh week after Pentecost.

Q1 According to today’s lesson about the sixth commandment, I think we can find many cases which we committed this sixth commandment in our life at family, school, church or community not knowing or many cases which we made effort to build the society where we respect each other. Would you share the cases which you experienced or witnessed good or bad with your friends? 오늘 우리가 배운 제6계명을 바탕으로 생각해 보면, 가정이나 학교나 교회 그리고 사회에서 우리가 잘 모르는 채, 이 제6계명을 지키지 못했거나, 혹은 이 제6계명대로 서로 존중하는 공동체로 만들기 위해 노력한 일들이 많을 수 있을 것 같은데, 여러분들이 가정이나 학교나 교회에서 혹은 커뮤니티에서 이런 사례들이 있다면 여러분들의 친구들과 나누어 주시면 좋겠습니다.
