“Pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” [Colossians 4:3-4]
The more holy a person is, the more he values prayer; the clearer he sees that God gives Himself to praying people. The Holy Spirit never abides in a spirit that does not pray. Christ knows nothing of prayerless Christians.
Gifts, talents, education, eloquence, and God’s call cannot lessen the demand of prayer, but only intensify the necessity for the preacher to pray and to be prayed for. And, if he is a true preacher, he will feel the necessity of prayer even more strongly.
He will not only feel the increasing demand to pray himself, but to call on others to help him through their prayers.
Father, I pray for preachers around the world today; that You will open the doors for their message as they tell the world of Your love for us. Amen. [The Power of Prayer]
